Playoffs - Odd number of teams and more Bye week options
This playoff format would allow for an odd number of teams in the playoffs and other options for Bye weeks in the first week of playoffs. Currently, this is not an option for playoff formats.

Is anyone even looking at this? I posted this months ago and haven't gotten a single response. What's going on here!?

This runs along the lines of previous suggestions to allow leagues to end on their own time frame.
However, in doing so, could there be an option to create a schedule format that balances the season?
Example:
I commish a 10-team league. We've discussed playing only 18 weeks of regular season ball, with each team playing an opponent twice during the regular season. This works for 12-team leagues in a 22 week regular season as well.
For an 8-team league, a 21-week season pits a team against an opponent three times.
When you get to 14-team and 16-team leagues, instituting divisional play achieves the result of a balanced schedule. Bonus points for allowing commissioners to set the divisions, too.
"Balanced Schedule" can be an option for commissioners when setting up their leagues.

Where do we stand on this?

Agreed. Further, Yahoo should offer a two-week final that runs through and ends in the second last week of the NHL's regular season - avoid the NHL's last scheduled week of the regular season, please. Too much "resting" of players this year, likely an Olympic compensation, but a shame when good players "rest" during key matchups in league finals. Two week finals option running through and ending in the second last week of the regular season ... add such a two-week option, Yahoo.

It used to be better with 2 week championships and a shortened All-star week. Bring back the two week battle and the short allstar week.

There is ZERO reason that this should not be an option. I actually setup my "revamped" dynasty league with this option in mind only to find out a week before the draft that it was not an option. Why is it not an option? The only plausible explanation; complete and utter negligent oversight on behalf of the fantasy sports program managers. Dear sirs and madams; GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER. kthanxbye

Leave it up to the commissioner to decide how many weeks each round is. More flexibility!

Fix it. Fantasy sports used to be the only thing Yahoo did better than its competitors. Now, I'm only here out of laziness and will switch next year if this is not addressed.

I'm in total support of the 2 week championship final. I would change my playoff format if this option were available.

Can we please get this done for the 2014 season? I tried to set it and 2 week finals are not an option. My leaguemates are not happy about it and want to switch to a competitor and delete our league.

Kinda like this idea. Not because ESPN has it, but because late August is like week 17 in football, where championships get decided by random guys who had no value all season. For H2H, it would be nice to be able to end the season at an earlier endpoint.

Yahoo needs to implement this before this season starts!! My league has been using yahoo for 7 years now and I will have no problem switching it if this change does not occur. Please everyone get your teams to vote for this rule so yahoo knows we are pushing for this.

I agree, it would be nice for all to be able to enjoy the full baseball season as a fantasy participant

I am in full agreement with this. I had this specifically requested by managers of my leagues. They want to be done by around Sept 15. Football stuff takes over and managers do not want to do much with baseball once the September call-ups from minors start. It messes up the play-offs when players are not playing as many games if their team is not in a play-off race.

Yahoo is on the clock. Change this setting and offer a 2 week playoff or your site will see the number of baseball leagues drastically reduce next year (probably this year to)
Its such a simple and mindless fix. Why this is a big deal and "gathering feedback" is beyond me. Put your big boy pants on Yahoo and make this change - its a no brainer

I've been looking for this for a while now. We don't want to switch to ESPN, but since they allow for 2 week matchups, we're going to have to since it's unanimous in our league that two weeks is a must. Come on Yahoo, don't make us switch to ESPN!

yes please! my league really wants this!

This used to be allowed, what happened!?!? This needs to come back, a champion should not be decided because of a lucky set up of double starts.

Absolutely has to happen. We want to stay with Yahoo, but this might be a deal breaker. Any respectable fntasy site should give this option as it is easy to program (I assume) and common in football and other sports. Please change your settings. Is there anyone we can call.
