Maybe for the goons who dont know pitching, Yahoo could separate pitcher and batter transactions for Commissioner settings.
But, in my view streaming mirrors todays game better anyway. Real teams are now using 6-7 pitcher rotations, adding 27th player for DHs, and sending pitchers up and down from the minors like crazy. Add in openers, and you got a real need to stay on top of things.
For the players who cant keep up, just play a weekly league that locks your lineups.
The rest of us enjoy the real game.
Plus, steaming pitchers is no guarantee of anything.
I commission a variety of leagues. The best way to limit streaming with Pt leagues is to use 12 or more team leagues. 14 teams will really fdonthe trick.
Also, your commissioner can take the time to set up the points to punish losses more heavily, and not reward as much for IP or QS, etc.
I have one league like this with 10 teams and a lot of available streaming options. However, most of the streams lose the player points as they are the pitchers nobody wanted anyway. The player has to really pay attention to matchups, etc to get rewarded. Making that choice of giving someone else up doesnt always pay either. You got to give to receive. Choose wisely. -

People like streaming leagues. i do.
Your commish can limit weekly transactions if you dont enjoy playing daily -

I think it'd be pretty easy (and beneficial) for Yahoo Fantasy League Baseball to create a pitcher-innings limitation feature for H-2-H. It'd work like this...
Allow commishioners to set an innings-limit for each weekly match. For the sake of argument, let's say it's 72 innings total (SP and RP).
If I were to exceed that limitation on a Saturday, then my counting-stats for Saturday (and the remainder of the match) would be negated, and my pitching-week ends. My pitching-stats would "roll-back" to what I had at the completion of the previous day.
If I were to have a worse ERA or WHIP because of my Saturday, those values would remain as is... thus a true "punishment" is incurred for my weekly overage. I don't think this would be very hard for Yahoo coders to implement. That said... and I'm not 100% sure of this... I think this overage punishment would have to happen *after* the weekly "Stat Corrections" are completed.

Our league, If I had a Hammer ID#8566, since 2003, is considering leaving yahoo format, because there is no H2H controls for pitching, specifically starting but also relievers. We have lots of streaming, which most of our team owners don't like, but have to exercise, in order to remain competitive. In order to control streaming, there has to be either a weekly limit on innings and/or starts for pitchers in H2H leagues. Other systems like CBS or ESPN, offer number of games pitched or started, as a controlled limit, in league set up. Our league respectfully asks why doesn't Yahoo offer such control in league setup, when other systems do, even in your own roto leagues. We are asking that Yahoo not only consider this but implement it. This control would be very helpful and appreciated by long time Yahoo Fantasy Baseball Enthusiasts.

My league made the switch from ESPN this year, a platform that limits starts in a weekly matchup to 12 per team, and it seems unfathomable to us that Yahoo doesn't even have an option to limit the number of starts per week. Leagues that want unlimited starts should be allowed to have them, but those of us who don't want to see teams streaming 20 starters a week shouldn't have to be enforcing that manually. This is a massive oversight.

No limit on innings pitched is a big problem in my league, this should be implemented ASAP!

100%. Leagues should have this option. If leagues do not want to use a maximum, they should not be forced to...but for leagues that want it, there has to be a way to implement it. Other sites have this availability, why doesn’t Yahoo!?

In any format, I'd like to set a RANGE of IP's. 30 to 40 or so would be perfect.

I just moved my league to Yahoo this year after being at ESPN for 10 years and Fantrax last year. Espn was too basic with limited features and Fantrax was too complex for many in my league. However, in each platform we were able to use start limits to curb streaming and stashing SPs. It's very surprising to see this option isn't available in H2H-Points formats. It seems pretty basic- even ESPN offers it.
It's also disappointing that this thread has been open for 3 years with members pleading for this option and it has yet to be addressed.
Having a Minimum IP promotes streaming and forces commissioners to set roster limits and/or waiver limits, which has never been something we've wanted to use. As long as all active slots are filled an owner should be able to construct their team however they want.
I fear that the Min IP will have a negative impact on the quality of our league.
Please consider adding the start limit option to h2h points formats, and as soon as possible. It truly impacts the quality of your product.

why would you want to limit the way teams try to win? It's all strategy. Some have all their bench players as batters, some have none or just one. Some like to add and drop pitchers hoping for wins and k's. Sometimes it costs whip and era because most the available pitchers to claim aren't very good. It's like baseball making the shift illegal. Why? If it helps to win because a player can't hit to the opposite field, why penalize the defense?

There is already a minimum innings pitched limit per week. Adding a maximum limit shouldn’t be too hard to add.
Our league has had to limit weekly transactions to curb streaming. But it sucks when you have to replace an injured hitter and can’t because you’re out of weekly transactions due to a rule only made to address pitching.

Have not read all the comments, but you can limit IP. Seems like a imperfect but not worthless option right there.

A THOUSAND times this for private leagues too! PLEASE!!

I agree it should be an option for leagues that wish to have it. Leagues that do not want it can set it at like 120 or something per week. Leagues that do want it can set wherever lower. It compares start to start more closely in weekly leagues rather than comparing who accumulated the most counting stats.

There needs to be an option for a maximum innings pitched. Too many teams in my H2H league are just streaming pitchers for volume to snag a couple pitching categories. Having a maximum innings pitched option there would be good as it would keep everyone on an even playing field.
