  1. Please allow Doubtful status in IR roster spot

As a long time loyal commissioner & fantasy football player on Yahoo, I have long wanted at least the option to turn on the ability for every manager to put players with a Doubtful designation into an IR slot.

It should work exactly like the "OUT" designation, where if a player goes from OUT or DOUBTFUL to questionable or healthy, they can't make a transaction until moving that player to their active roster or cutting/trading them. The vast majority of the time, a DOUBTFUL designation leads to a player being declared OUT the same week, so they should either be…

  2. Question About Player Designation

Jayden Daniels has been ruled "out" of the game this Sunday by the Commanders. Why is he only still listed as "doubtful" on the fantasy forum? This designation is preventing a move off my bench and opening up an active roster spot in my league.

    Hi,

    Daniels was updated to O.

Please note that a team has to officially rule a player out for the game week if they are not on the IR. Once officially ruled out, our data provider will update their designation to reflect in our game. Player notes and reports that players won't play will not change the injury tag.

  3. "Start Active Players" button, does not work in a useful way.

The "Start Active Players" button should be able to swap bench player for injured player, if pressed when a player is listed as "Questionable".
See my CHAT discussion, copied below:
"Start Active Players" button, does not work.

On Monday 9/21, I had Puka Nacua questionable. I moved Nacua to the Flex position and picked-up TE Terrance Ferguson on Waivers for my bench. I then pressed the "Start Active Players" button a few times on Sunday and Monday. But In the game, Nacua wound up staying in the starting position and Ferguson was on the bench, with 17 Fantasy Points.

  4. D. Stribling Should be IR Eligible

    D. Stribling of the 49ers has been placed on Injured Reserve by the team. Yahoo needs to update his injury so he can be placed on IR in fantasy leagues.

    Hi Coby,

Player injury designations are determined by our data provider.

If a team does not place a player on the IR, the player's injury designation will reset at the start of each new game week. Once the team officially rules the player out for the week, it will be updated by our data provider and then reflected in our game.

  6. A player who reaches a “doubtful” or “out” injury designation remains IR-eligible until the injury designation is fully removed.

Can you give fantasy commissioners the option to let “Doubtful” injured players be IR-eligible?

For example, I have Brock Bowers on my fantasy football team. He just had surgery this week to clean up his knee and reports say he’s going to miss a few games. His official designation by his team and the NFL is “doubtful” (which is a questionable diagnosis, but ok), so he will not be declared “out” or become IR-eligible until game-time on Sunday, so I will have to drop another roster player to add a replacement TE.

Where this gets frustrating is when it’s time…

  7. Make players available to move to IR sooner

Brock Bowers had surgery and is out. You have him marked for zero points. Yahoo is sending me notifications that Brock Bowers is out and is in your starting lineup. yet you won't make him available to go to IR so I'm stuck not being able to make a move. And there was a game last night and another one tonight. This is ridiculous. The whole world knows he's not playing including yahoo. Please make the change sooner. Some of us are in competitive leagues.

  9. Injury status for players

Why is there reports out that Bowers is out for a week or two but your site still shows doubtful……this prevents the use of IR spot and hurts the team manager.

This happens very frequently on Yahoo what’s the deal!

Our data provider updates the injury designations for players and will not list someone as IR or Out until the team officially makes a transaction to put the player on IR or they officially rule the player out for the game week. Once the moves are official, our data provider will update the designation which will then update in our game.

Thank you for reaching out regarding IR spots in your league. If you have IR spots, they will not show unless you move players to them. If you have a player that is IR-eligible, you can click on the button to the left of them to move them in your lineup. You should then see the IR spot appear in order to move them there.

  11. Designated Injury Backup

I’d like to suggest an optional Fantasy Football feature called Designated Injury Backup (DIB).

DIB is intended to reduce one of the most frustrating forms of fantasy-football bad luck: correctly starting a player who then suffers a legitimate game-ending injury early in his NFL game.

The concept adds a limited version of real-world roster depth. A manager could predesignate an eligible bench player as an injury backup at commissioner-enabled positions. If a starter suffers a qualifying game-ending injury, the manager would keep the starter’s earned fantasy production and receive only the appropriate later portion of the designated backup’s production.

  12. Improve projections on injured players

Can you please update a player’s projections when they are added to the PUP. For example, Zach Charbonnet is out the first 4 weeks after being added to the PUP. You should not be projecting him to score any fantasy points those weeks.

  13. Players on Bye

We play in a 14 team league, which limits weekly pick ups, and makes the season long game less enjoyable because there are not a lot of pool available options. As commissioner, if I had the option to increase IR spots, and you guys gave me the option to allow Bye players to be added to IR- I can reduce the bench spots, putting more players in the pool, because teams would not need to to have enough reserves to handle Bye player situations and could move add replacement without dropping someone because they are on a Bye. This would…

  14. Update Injury status

Josh Jacobs has been designated as N/A instead of O for out!?!? What is that?? I can't move him to an IR spot for the week so I can pick up a plug-in player for today! Every other platform has him as (O) out.

Thank you for reaching out regarding the injury status for Josh Jacobs. Our data provider updates the injury designations for players and will not list someone as IR or Out until the team officially makes a transaction to put the player on IR or they officially rule the player out for the game. Once the moves are official, our data provider will update the designation which will then update in our game. The injury status for Jacobs was updated shortly after he was officially ruled out.

  15. Once a player is in the IR slot, he should be able to remain in the IR slot until he plays again.

Fix the IR or O to Q or D to IR or ) to Q or D to IR or O roller coaster. See Terry McLaurin, for example.

Every single week, I can't make moves until Saturday or even Sunday because the guys I have on IR are then deemed to be Q or something and I have to drop them or not make moves. Then because they are STILL HURT, I can finally make moves on the weekend once they are ONCE AGAIN deemed to be hurt. I miss out on players.

You have to be realistic about how…

    Hi,

    Thanks for your feedback.

A player will be eligible to remain in the IR roster spot as long as they have 1 of the following designations: IR (Injured Reserve), NFI-R (Non-Football Injury (Reserve)), NFI-A (Non-Football Injury (Active)), O (Out), or Physically Unable to Perform (PUP).

These designations are determined by our data provider. If a player is not on the NFL IR list, their designation will reset at the beginning of each new game week until they are officially ruled out by their team for that week. A player on bye who is listed as out should remain with that designation during their bye week.

  16. Add the ability to designate specific backups for injury designation week to week

For a given week, it would be nice to have the ability to designate a specific backup player to swap out for a specific starter if their status is uncertain and they end up sitting the game out. You could argue that you don't want owners putting their teams on autopilot with settings like that, but this designation could be very specific and only apply to the current week. Plus, even sportsbooks are voiding some bets if a player is injured for a game, so it seems there is precedent for this. Thanks.

  17. Injured players on IR should not be "Q" until they are expected to return

Players listed as "out" should be designated as "out" until they will play again. This week McLaurin is not going to play, per his coach. Yet he's listed as "Q". I have him on IR from last week, meaning I have to drop someone to make a move, even though he WILL NOT play this week, and is on bye next week. This is frustrating as F...

  18. Player Availability Designation

Please give some consideration to leaving players designated as OUT until it's 100% certain that they will play that week. Right now, many times the player moves to Questionable from OUT, but then doesn't actually play that week.

  19. Update your injury report in REAL TIME

I have a player in IR who's current designation in Yahoo is Questionable, where all other sites- press, sports websites, fantasy football sites - where Yahoo continues to delay updates, currently preventing me to from making roster moves. Either catch up with the world or allow leagues to update designations or customize IR.

    Hi Kom,

Our injury designations are determined by our data provider. If a player is not officially on the IR, once the player's team officially rules them out for the week through their official injury report, or an official update on the team's page (such as X), then our data provider will update the player's designation to update in our game.

  20. Keep NFL player status as Out or IR until they get cleared to return

Examples: Ricky Pearsall and Calvin Ridley. Neither has been place on IR by their respective teams, but both have been out for multiple weeks without even practicing. Instead of flip-flopping their status between Out and Questionable every week, why not leave their status as Out until they are actually cleared to return? Benefit:
This would allow owners of these players to leave them in their IR slot until they are active, which in turn allows them to keep their replacement player, instead of dropping the replacement into the FA pool at the beginning of the week, only to have to…

    Hi Yves,

Player injury designations are determined by our data provider.

When a player is not on the official IR, their injury designation will reset at the start of the new game week. Once the team officially rules the player out for that week, our data provider will update the designation so it updates in our game. Please note that a report saying the player will be out does not change their designation.
