In my opinion making this feature a premium feature is a huge disadvantage for players in Türkiye. We can't even get a premium because of where we live. Yahoo wont let us to buy premium. Therefore, we cant use ''start active players for week'' directly. This makes us consider other apps for playing NBA Basketball Fantasy.

For decades, Yahoo Fantasy has been the most accessible and user-friendly platform for fantasy sports. Many of us have stayed loyal to Yahoo even as competitors have gained ground by offering more customization and features. But the recent decision to lock the “Start Active Players – Rest of Week” button behind a Fantasy Plus paywall is a massive step backward, especially for sports like hockey, basketball, and baseball where lineups change daily.
This feature has always been a core part of the Yahoo Fantasy experience. It’s not a luxury add-on—it’s a basic quality-of-life tool that makes managing teams feasible for busy players. Removing it:
Punishes long-time users who have relied on this function for years.
Creates unnecessary friction in daily lineup management, especially in multi-game-per-week sports.
Pushes entire leagues to consider moving to other platforms that still offer this functionality for free.
Every single one of my hockey and basketball leagues—leagues that have been running on Yahoo for years—is now actively discussing migrating elsewhere because of this change. That should be a red flag.
If Yahoo wants to grow Fantasy Plus, the way forward is to add new premium features, not strip away long-standing essentials. Paywalling something so fundamental feels like a betrayal of the trust and loyalty that has kept users here despite increasing competition.
Suggestion: Please restore the “Rest of Week” lineup button as a free feature for all users. Keep Fantasy Plus focused on true premium enhancements, not on dismantling basic usability for everyone else.
Yahoo Fantasy has built its reputation on accessibility and ease of use. Don’t undermine that legacy.

Charging money to load a roster for the week... That is honestly pathetic. Our league will change to a different provider next year if this isn't dropped. What a terrible idea. Greed.

Hi yahoo fantasy team, i am confused/annoyed by the "start active players" for rest of week moving behind a paywall? The experience is confusing, when I try to start active players it only lets me do it for a single day (which frankly is not very helpful feature). The "rest of week" feature is behind a lock. But then the up-sell description for "fantasy plus" says "Unlock multi-week lineup optimizations." and doesn't mention anything about "rest of week"...
I can totally understand multi week being behind the paywall. But rest of week has been a free feature for years, and is table stakes for every other fantasy provider. For a long season sport like NBA, this is pretty critical feature and frankly I'm considering moving the league to another provider if that's no longer something Yahoo provides.
Hopefully this feedback helps, please let me know if I'm missing something or if that feature becomes available.

My friends and I have used your fantasy service for years now and we are extremely disappointed with your decision to paywall a previously free feature of fantasy hockey with setting a weekly line up. Every year, it becomes more difficult to recruit a full group of competitive fantasy hockey players due to the time and dedication it takes to manage a roster. Your decision to paywall this further creates unnecessary friction that will 1) require more time to set a weekly roster and 2) hinder any chance of advertising our league to other friends that might want to try fantasy hockey. We strongly recommend that you reconsider these actions or else we will have no choice but to consider utilizing a different fantasy competitor in the future.

I seriously can't believe your organizaiton decided to hide such a standard feature behind a pay wall.
That's like a restaurant charging a fee for me to sit down, or a grocery store for grabbing a hand basket. You really need to reverse this or I'll push my league to move.
Seroiusly pathetic revenue grab, your managment team should be ashamed -

Putting the start players button behind a paywall is going to lose you so many people playing fantasy on your site. I know for a fact if this isn't changed soon this will be the last league I ever use Yahoo for. I would seriously reconsider this you absolute bozos

No need to describe this, you know what you did. This platform is better than most but the fact you added a paywall in front of a previously free feature means you "slimy" con artists don't care about your product. You only care about money.
Get ready to lose a ton of users going into new fantasy seasons because you had to place "start players for the week" behind the premium feature. What a disgusting decision

You're really going to start charging for a feature that was free for years? What kind of capitalist garbage is that. I plan on moving my league to a different platform if that's how you guys want to do it.

Fantasy Sports- taking away the lineup set up for the entire week (that WAS FREE) and now charging for it is ridiculous.

This is a hugely irritating feature that was added to Fantasy Hockey, and I really don't see a reason for it beyond wanting more money.
I even went to sign up for Fantasy Plus, but you don't offer it to Canadians! Seriously, what the ****? Who are the majority of your hockey fans and players other than Canadians? We can't join prize leagues, and now we can't even pay you while you actively make the system worse? Go **** yourselves!
If this doesn't change by the end of the season, I'm permantly changing platforms. I've been a player on here since 2020, so if you value an ounce of that loyalty (as well as many others), you'll remove the paywall. If you don't, I hope whoever made that decision permenantly gets a caught that never goes away.

Whose idea was this? Both of my fantasy leagues are all in 100% agreement that we will be leaving Yahoo fantasy. Putting simply setting weekly lineups behind a paywall is so ridiculously insulting that I don't even think reversing this change will be enough to keep us. Purely idiotic.

CHANGE THE SET YOUR LINEUP FEATURE BACK. Unbelievably SCUMMY to do it after the season starts too. I can promise you, everyone I know is going is talking about leaving Yahoo starting next season this has ****** them off so much. This paywall to set your lineup for the week is already RUINING some of my leagues because some people are too busy to set their lineups every single ******* day. I am so sick of corporate greed. ******* change it back or we're gone.
