Stop the Auto-play videos, AGAIN!
You guys stopped auto-pay videos in the sports section for a few months and then the NFL season came around. Every NFL article has an auto-play video that takes forever to load and makes the page run slow. Half the time, the videos have no bearing the on the article and the other half they tell everything in the article. So either go to a video streaming news content only or stop the auto-play videos. Please stop the auto-play videos, please.

Hello -
We have added the ability to turn off auto-play on our videos. Please review this article – https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN25842.html – to make the change.
Please note that this will not apply to videos provided by NFL.com at this time.
Thanks for the feedback.

We don't care for auto play videos, instead of making us turn it off, it should turned off by default and turned on by us if we want it on!

I've been using yahoo sports daily for 15 years but I'm finally moving on. I can no longer tolerate these autoplay videos.

Yahoo Sports is trash. Autoplay videos are the 2nd worst thing on the entire internet behind only viruses/malware. The had the ability to turn them off for a little while and now it's gone, so I will be gone, too.

This link is dead. You need to tell us how to fix this. I just want to be able to check on updates without the Fantasy Minute theme song or some pre-roll blaring in my ears. I know you are subservient to your advertisers, but this is annoying and has to be killing your pageview counts. I just shut the tab because it takes 5 seconds for the stupid pause button to show up.
Fix your auto-play, or watch your site metrics crater. Your choice.

One more thing: I click away from the Sports main page tab, come back to it, and the autoplay video starts again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What moron created this page???

Turning off the autoplay option really only ever lasted half a day. Now, the option is gone completely. Currently there are two autoplay videos on the front page at one time???? Are you kidding me???? Also, I have to click "NO" on a daily fantasy ad every time just to turn off both autoplay videos. What a joke...

simply put, the feature doesn't work. I've gone to the menu, disabled auto play, closed the menu, reloaded the page and guess what? The video auto plays again with auto play swiched back on. It's all some cruel trick.

Sucks and your fix doesn't work. I've used yahoo since 1998 and this is the final straw. Your customers matter but you obviously don't care about us

That feature isn't even available on Yahoo forced advertisement. Very annoying!!!

Dear yahoo's in Yahoo product support (admin, Yahoo) I call ******** on your statement regarding stopping the auto play videos. I just suffered through one that I could not stop or mute on a college football story about Alabama running a play with only 10 men on defense. I would tell you more to describe the article but can't because I won't read the article with your ****** video running and can't hear/watch the main article's video because I cannot stop your ****** one that I don't care about. There is a reason everyone I know hates Yahoo and it is **** like this! GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR LOWER TORSOS!

I could not get to the "help" page to see instructions on how to shut off the video but by reading other's comments I found I had to go to full screen to find a menu button. And it works! I had to do it for Yahoo Sports, Yahoo Finance and then for the bigger one on the Baseball page of sports but all three now are working. No more unwanted video!

I have been wanting to be able to shut down the videos for a while now. Glad to see you post a link so I have the option. Now if you could just make the link function so I can read the information I would really be happy.

OH WOW! I now know that the Louie Louie singer passed away thanks to the auto-playing videos.
My life is now enriched and fulfilled.

Also, is this supposed to work? While I followed the instructions, I'm still getting videos talking about Seinfeld reruns on Hulu and other immensely useless videos playing without any prompting.

Hello -
Can you tell us where you can find this "menu" icon is on the Yahoo! sports main page sidebar video that plays?
I see that I have to go to fullscreen to find it.Please note that people who are interested in turning off autoplay are probably the least likely people to go to fullscreen on these same videos.
Thanks,
Joe
