Spam
There is no indication that there are any email in the Spam folder. It is necessary to open the folder to check. A simple number next to the spam heading would suffice, just like that used for the inbox, as it used to be.

Spam is totaly ineffective in yahoo mail, there are too many spams everyday which pop in Inbox and Spam folder is ofcourse always overflowing with spamemails.
But, recently a very important reply to me from city office was flagged as SPAM. I would have never imagined that a reply email would be flagged as SPAM, i could have easily missed that email if I had not checked SPAM folder. Now I have to eveytime scan the spam fodler looking for important emails flagged as spam.

Something changed and now my spam folder only has recent emails. I assume they must be automatically deleted as I didn't, to my knowledge, ask for them to be deleted. I often get stuff that goes into spam that I actually want, so I don't want spam to be deleted until I've had a chance to review it and remove it from spam.

don't know quite what happened but after over a year of deleting nearly 200 spam emails a day EVERY day, suddenly there is no spam. Nothing. It's like watching the tide go out, and waiting for the tsunami to roll back in.
