Spam
There is no indication that there are any email in the Spam folder. It is necessary to open the folder to check. A simple number next to the spam heading would suffice, just like that used for the inbox, as it used to be.

Spam in yahoomail now gettting 40 a day every day out of control and Verizon is not stopping it. Why then no other web based email doing that?

Most of the comments here are not relevant to the OP's suggestion. He suggested, and I concur, that you need to return the message count indicator next the SPAM folder on the folder list. When there is no indication of new messages, there is no inclination to check...it takes an "oh yeah" to go in and find a month old false positive on an email you though you never received. Yahoo, please turn the indicator back on.

Emails that I have not identified as spam are going into the spam folder. Fix this error or I will delete this account because I should not need to go to my spam folder every day and move emails to my inbox.

If you want people to pay for your services, make them actually work. For example, have your SPAM filters...actually filter SPAM.

I was getting spam from a new, non-filtered source. All have one thing in common in the body, regardless of other content or presumed source. I set a custom filter to look for that particular common wording, and set it to move anything with that in the body to the spam folder. Saved, signed out.
The next day, all emails with that common wording was in my inbox again.
When I checked the custom spam filter I'd set, it had reverted to placing anything with that word selection into my inbox. I corrected that to the spam folder, and again saved the setting and logged out. The next day, the custom filter had again reverted to moving those emails to the inbox.
This is totally unacceptable.
Please fix this bug, so that when one saves a setting in the custom filters, it stays saved as is.Thank you.

All my kijiji emails are going into spam. I have clicked the not spam setting over and over. I am missing business because of this. What are you using for spam? I still get yahoo junk mail all the time, but emails that are actually important are being spammed.

SPAM is not nice but "mostly harmless" (yes, quoting Douglas Adams). Phishing and spearphishing are much more serious because the security breach for victims can be pure disaster. Reporting them should lead to human action so that Yahoo admins can run agents in the mailbox of other users. This way, one person reporting the phishing would have a beneficial impact on ALL Yahoo mail users.

I am trying to send an e-mail from our company e-mail to a yahoo adress (even tried several others to make sure the problem is yahoo) and it keeps sending me Mail Delivery System error 550 : this message was classified as spam... It only ever happens when I am sending to a yahoo adress and it`s a real pain because it is interfering with our work and the projects are being delayed because of this. I hope some feedback is coming soon because we are not happy over here.
Thank you

I keep getting Marijuana messages and I keep marking them spam and they continue to go into my inbox. Seriously, WHY? A lot of ridiculous emails are going into my inbox that used to be caught and appropriately marked. I have no need for marijuana! Please update your Spam system to follow through with removing those messages that I am MARKING SPAM! thank you.

I have received hundreds of spam emails from the same sender: newsletter@j-b-orb.eu with subjects ranging all over the map. Since an email that is not spam occasionally ends up in my spam folder, I must check it regularly... but then have to wade thru 10 or 20 or more of the real spam to check. Certainly you have the ability to recognize that the same "sender" address is being used for a bazillion spams... and can block them long before they end up in my spam folder.
