Spam
There is no indication that there are any email in the Spam folder. It is necessary to open the folder to check. A simple number next to the spam heading would suffice, just like that used for the inbox, as it used to be.

I'm using the filter for security as you recommended. I set up Spam filter for the emails that keep getting through. I leave the settings tab, go back later and it has changed all the filters to move to inbox, not spam. I have done a snippet if you need to see.

Report Spam
Forward unwanted or deceptive messages to:the Federal Trade Commission at spam@uce.gov. Be sure to include the complete spam email.
your email provider. At the top of the message, state that you're complaining about being spammed. Some email services have buttons that allow you to mark messages as junk mail or report them spam.
the sender's email provider, if you can tell who it is. Most web mail providers and ISPs want to cut off spammers who abuse their system. Again, make sure to include the entire spam email and say that you're complaining about spam.
If you try to unsubscribe from an email list and your request is not honored, file a complaint with the FTC. -

Why do known contacts emails going into spam, this has begun about 1 month ago, I was giving you a pass on the mistake but it seems you need more of a push to fix it Also why when deleting messages are messages below the deleted items being deleted.

Yahoo NEEDS to do a better job of identifying spammers - spam addresses to the left of @ sign consisting of meaningless mix of nonsense letters and digits ARE spam and typically also appear to have the same meaningless mix of random letters and digits to the right of the @ although some try to have less or no digits to the right, they need to be treated as the spam trash that is seeking to trick people. Come on Yahoo - get with the program and STOP THIS type of spamming. Me, I'm going to move ALL of my email archives to GMAIL and stop using Yahoo for anything, especially MAIL!!!

Your spam filtering has gone WAY downhill. Stop spending so much time constantly changing the look and feel, and keep on top of the spam! I get almost zero spam in my Gmail account, vs 50% spam messages in my Yahoo account.
I don't want to abandon my Yahoo mail, but I don't know if I'll have much of a choice if this keeps up!

When you mark something as spam, it should automatically unsubscribe you (or at least ask you if you want to unsubscribe) and "learn" that you do not want to receive emails from this sender. I have marked emails as spam 10 times and still receive them in my inbox. What good is it to mark them as spam if I continue to receive them? Why is this not an issue with my gmail account?

Interesting idea:
Many people (probably most people) have an email address just for their spam to get sent to. Why not save yourself some storage space and offer email accounts (or add an option to email accounts) that will automatically delete anything left in the inbox more than a certain amount of time, like 6 months.
