New mail sucks
The new mail won't sort to go through only unread mail when reading email. When I sort for unread and I start reading I don't want it to then go back to every email in date order. I don't like the functionality of the new mail. And now you have taken away the ability to go back to the old email. I am really not happy and honestly if something doesn't change I may quit yahoo mail. It was and is bad enough that there has been such issues with double emails and not deleting emails. Now I can't even go back to the old email.

I believe that this is the 3rd time that I opened my mail and found it had changed to the new mail. Only this time when I tried to change back not only did I have trouble, I was told that it wasn't just me, it was impossible and that classic was gone for good. I started out using hotmail, but went to yahoo as it was easier to read and work with. I may find myself going back to hotmail as I think that it is less offensive than the new yahoo. PLEASE return classic!!

If you want to be outlook or gmail like, the folders and views should be able to be re-organized. For example, I HATE views, and want to drag it to the bottom of the tree, but it won't move and it expands everytime I refresh. I want my folders I created ABOVE THAT because that's what I use and need. Also, you should be able to drag and drop folders as you like in or out of other folders to be subfolders -- you shouldn't have to create a subfolder and then move all the items from the old folder to another folder, that's nuts and basic 101 of other email programs. I've been loyal to yahoo since around 2000, but I do use Outlook and gmail....I had to go back to classic after trying new mail because of how annoying the folder stuff was, and a few other things that you seemed to have fixed now. I see you are forcing people off classic on 1/31, so please take care of the things that make us want to leave yahoo completely. I don't understand how you don't understand how people want folder/view flexibility and customization, it is so basic of how everyone needs to use email to stay organized.

You people just cannot leave well enough alone!!!! You fiddle around, I guess to entertain yourselves, and always come up with a site that has too many "bells and whistles". Basic mail is simple straightforward and suits everyone like me -- and there are lots of us -- who didn't grow up with computers, who don't understand the language and who don't like continual changes. There should be a choice for customers -- Basic Mail (like it is now) or Upgraded Mail with a bunch of useless features that many of us are not interested in and just make using your site more frustrating. A choice in this matter would show a little respect for us. But then, I forget -- respect is something that has almost disappeared from our culture due to the attitudes of many of the "millenials". I find it interesting that the Hot Ideas comment ranked 1st is the one that says "just return me to my old format. thank you ......PLEASE!" But then you are most likely too arrogant to read the comments I see below. Lots of negative words for Yahoo there. I'm beginning to believe that Social Media and the Internet are fast becoming a blight on our society. I am a successful business person and have always known that pleasing customers, taking good care of them and listening to their wants and needs is a big factor in doing your job and being a success. Yahoo makes tons of money off the ads they sell as well as our personal information they offer. Your large user base allows you to those things. If that base goes away, you just might find yourselves out of a job. I will not sign up for a new account and if you change it again, it will be "bye-bye" Yahoo.

I paid to have no ads or pop-ups when I view my e-mails. You have reneged on your promise and you owe me a refund. It took 25 minutes to attach a Microsoft Excel worksheet an e-mail. The font is too small and too light. White background is too bright and causes headaches. The preview pane for attachments is too small, I can't make out what is on an attachment in that screen. The panel on the right is too big and takes up too much of the e-mail reading space. Ads are intrusive and irrelevant. The spam filter doesn't seem to be working. Actually, there is nothing on the new mail that I like. It is not intuitive and when seeking help I am told to read an article. Yahoo broke it, Yahoo needs to fix it, not me. I will never recommend Yahoo mail to anyone. Time to go back to gmail.

Restore yahoo email to the 1986 vers I started out with because it was the best there was in the market place.
It was a true virtual pc of stationary, like unto typing on a paper that was actually 'justified txt & space' as if it was real. ie. what you laid-out on the page was as if it was a real physical page. Please contact me for questions, and if you're a less than 20 yrs as code writer, you will are already confused about my references I've alluded to. About 2002-3 yahoo jumped off the real word processing plank right after the insanity of google email jumped off the dock and like-wise stuck it's I.T. egg-hd in the mud of the illogical stupidity they still have today. best regards, John G_alfa -

You jacked up the email system years ago and made everyone leave the design and format that not only was comfortable for everyone, but also WORKED. Now you are doing it again but it's worse. I don't care if I might have overpaid and I'm not going to turn off my adblocker so you can post your ****** ads. Why do we need to have ads in our email? Can't we just have one thing that doesn't have to be commercialized and revolve around greed and buying **** we don't need? Just leave it alone. No one asked you to change anything. No one wants your changes.
Here's an idea: If you want to change something, how about making your news feed more unbiased. I changed my homepage from Yahoo to the BBC last year. This is a big thing for me because I have had Yahoo as my home page since 1995! I got so fed up with your left-wing views, poor reporting, and bs news feed that I just became done with the whole mess. Change your news, not our email accounts.

Please allow users to change back to old style. This newer one is ******* the eyes especially for people who don't use the brightest setting for their monitor.

The new formatting for each Contact is absolutely awful. Why was this changed?
In the first place, serif fonts are the worst to read online, so why was the font changed to Times (or whatever it is)?
Second, all data is squeezed against the left and right edges--a terrible way to read the data. It looks like a SW dev person got lazy and just used a text file and dumped the data into each Contact. Why was this done?
Why was the format changed at all?

You can improve "New Mail" by allowing the choice of using the Old Mail. Current settings are ugly AF, plus the "service" isn't improved. I want my raindrops back!!!

There are functions that were useful in the Classic Yahoo Mail that the new mail does not seem to have. Bring back the older version. Some of us would prefer extra functionality to useless eye candy.
