How about a Select Some option with more control over how many months/emails it went back.
If you're going to offer a Select All function, then make it Select All, however often we don't really want to Select All, we want control over how far back we go, or how many messages we're dealing with. It would be much better to add functionality (like Gmail) that allows you to work by Month, by page, number of emails, or to truly select all based on the criteria (read, unread, etc) that you specify. In the new Yahoo Mail, currently when you "Select All" you're not really sure how many emails you're getting to go back and the default is just too many for someone trying to do controlled cleaning and too few for someone that really wants to clean house.
