Turn off link preview
If you cannot give us a DELETE button( like before) or a way to shut OFF your auto link preview insertion then please take it OUT until you get it to work correctly! I hate it. I forget that it doesn't work, I paste a link and then it auto adds a preview I cannot get rid of so I have to start a new message all over again. So for now I am UNABLE to add a link to my messages b/c of your defective auto preview "feature"! I used to be able to delete but now I cannot. Most people do NOT want automatic garbage that cannot be overridden/controlled.

btw, you're "gathering feedback" for almost 1.5 years now. How much longer?!

i know that the idea behind this was legit and meant to be helpful, but still, how is my grandma gonna know a website from an email is legit if she sees a preview of it? seriously, how?
it is an entire different story if, based on the key indicators that i give her, she will be able to see "http" vs "https", site URLs, potential parameters and whatnot.
Please give the option to turn this off. It is pretty useless in its current form. -

Agree, this has become a huge issue. It messes up every email I send.

Yahoo Mail seems to have given up. This is such an easy and obvious fix to do, but they can't be bothered. Best just to switch to Gmail like me. Tell all your friends too.

Agree with comment! I turn off the link preview and then when ever I restart my browser or re-log into my email and write a new email with a link i discover that the link preview is back on. So then I have to again resit my email. It keeps returning to the default link preview. Please. please fix this glitch. In my opinion there is no need for a link preview as it is just the equivalent of adding an unwanted ad to one's email.

I never turned on the auto link preview and it's so annoying having to constantly highlight and delete every obnoxious link image especially since most are just a GIGANTIC BLACK BOX ...and even worse forgetting to waste all of the time it takes to scroll all the way down every page before accidentally sending the nightmare

I agree. There is an email setting to turn this off, but it obviously does not work.

If I paste a link before filling the recipient address field and subject field, your system generates a link preview despite being turned off

I was going to post a comment that my Setting NOT to display a preview of a link was NOT working but I've discovered that the "bug" in your software was reported several weeks ago and has still not been fixed. Those link previews are really cluttering my e-mail because I regularly include multiple links in my e-mail.

Same problem here! This is getting a bit "post-literacy" (maybe not the most accurate term, but close enough for now) with images and links that are imposed on the e-mail user, as if no one would want to actually read or write a message that has not been cluttered with additional graphics. Some of us are actually trying to use e-mail to get things done that involve writing, rather than looking at images. Imagine that! I have started using multiple windows for composing e-mail messages in an effort to work around the problems. If I forget and add a link that causes an image to pop up, I copy and past the contents of the message in sections (to avoid copying and pasting the link and image) into another e-mail message waiting in a second window. Having a third window open for pasting links (Yahoo mail might alter them so what is pasted is not what was copied) might allow the link that actually was copied to be pasted on the second attempt (two tries for both copying and pasting). If the actual link can be pasted, it might not result in an image popping up. If that is the case, then I will try it in the first window, while still keeping the second window ready. Efficient!
It might be possible to delete the pictures . . . after everything else in the body of the message has been deleted.
