06/2019 REVISION TO NEW MAIL CONTACTS ELIMINATES SEVERAL FUNCTIONS
_No way to print contacts
_No way to highlight multiple contacts as directed in a HELP screen
_Clicking CONTACTS icon at top of contacts display just closes the window and does nothing
_Hard to read and scroll the contacts in the extremely narrow window used to display them
__Please go back to the Classic way or fix the issues with this new format

Yahoo new mail has my contacts listed by first names. Seriously???? name lists should always be listed alphabetically by SURNAME. The instructions they sent to edit contacts to last names DOES NOT WORK! Their answer is they can't help me further. In classic mail you could put a group in the "to" box all at once. now, you have to input them individually. I have groups I need to send 30 emails to, and it is so frustrating. Yahoo has gone downhill.

We need to be able to produce Contacts lists. Now Yahoo won't allow us to! Will be forced to move to another email system.

It is awful that I cannot click on a contact and see everything at once. I feel like I am looking through a peep hole to view one contact and all of their information. Terrible design. Clearly designed by someone who doesn't extensively use contacts.

no way to delete all contacts at one time. Very combersome to do them one at a time

yahoo confirmed that the ability to print contacts was eliminated with the switch from classic to new mail. what in the world was yahoo thinking? competitive world out here and you make yahoo mail LESS useful??? Not talking about exporting to csv file. I see that is still there. But printing out the contacts list. VERY useful since I can't access Yahoo contacts on my Android phone. How about that, too?

Yahoo confirmed that it is no longer possible to print contacts other than from an exported .csv file. What a terrible change. What in the world was Yahoo thinking?

Especially need to print. Changes are all a reduction in capabilities.

Yes. Reinstate these, especially printing contacts.

at least most of you seem to be able to open your contacts, my button doesn't work at all

The old Contacts section worked fine. This new one is useless.
I can't change ANYTHING - like add a first name for an address.
I have two cousins named Dave. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME PERSON.
There is no way to "add" a new contact; only to import from the services YOU have selected.
Agree with other comments on this page.
The list is too narrow and there are NO options for doing anything to it. -

I hate it. i can't figure out how to add contacts to my groups! I also have contacts showing up multiple times within a group. Please change it BACK!! It wasn't broken so why did you change it?

No option to sort contacts -- by default it seems to be sorted on first name, which is not ideal.

Inability to view and select multiple contacts is a big drawback. New display in a narrow panel on the right-hand side of the screen is inconvenient.

- System adds, deletes, and changes contacts spontaneously.
- System will not allow user to add contacts or delete them
- Contacts are no longer alphabetical.
- It's no longer possible to tell where contacts are sorted without going through each and ever email in each and every category
- PRINTING CONTACTS is no longer a possibility!
- System is losing emails on a daily basis
-PLEASE go back to the Classic way until the issues are fixed with this format - IF they ever are.... -

Yahoo Mail - I'm a Pro user, and in a recent update you changed the way Contacts worked and were accessed.
If I open an email and hover over an email address (in FROM or CC) who I know is in my address box, you no longer provide any link to get to or edit that contact like we could before.
Similarly, if I an open an email and hover over an email address who is not in my address book, you no longer give me an easy way add that email to my address book using the information from that email FROM/CC value.
The only thing that shows (when I hover over any email address in a FROM or CC or TO) for all contacts whether they are already in my address book or not, is a "Auto generated card visible only to you" message.
I can provide screen shots and/or screen casts to show the issue.
I tried to revert back to an earlier version of Yahoo Mail that had that functionality, but the only version I can switch to is "Classic" which doesn't have that functionality.
The ONLY two links the current version of my Yahoo provides in the "auto generated" card, is
(A) Search for the user's email
(B) Click the user's email to send them an emailThere is no longer a way to easily create and/or edit contacts via an email, like there was prior.
The only way the current version of Y! Mail let's me edit/add contact is in the new sidebar widget that you just implemented, which isn't really much help.
Please help.
I reported this on FB here:

Also agree with the other user's comments here about the other functions that no longer work, such as selecting multiple contacts and being able to do group functions on them like send them emails or add them to lists.
Separately, but importantly, as a Product guy (i.e Product Manager) with over 25+ years doing Product Management (also building web based email systems), I understand when features need to be retired, changed, etc.
But part of being a good Product person is being able to communicate TO YOUR USERS (especially paying ones like me) about why you are making certain changes and/or removing certain features.
Users won't always support certain changes that must be made, but at the very least tell your users what the heck you're doing and why you're doing it, instead of simply changing the functionality and not providing any information as to what was changed and why.
I will tell you that if I was running the Yahoo! Mail Product Management team, I'd more than likely fire people on my staff if they just removed major functionality without figuring out a way to not only communicate those changes to our users, but make it easy for them to find and understand the updates.
Geeze it's 2019 folks, and that kind of stuff is SO EASILY done.

Yes! Adding my two cents......I'm EXTREMELY frustrated trying to set up a new list for the upcoming school year. All the previous comments are exactly why: difficult to add new people to the list (works sometimes, not others); no way to sort by last name; contacts are listed more than once in a list, with each email address and their phone number being separate; can't print it out; edits to a contact don't stick. WHY on earth would you have changed it??? It used to be fine! I even changed to the Basic version, just to see if it would be the old way, but it doesn't work either. Please fix this asap!

No way to change the list using the last name as the list should read, not first name.

I, too, cannot print my contacts list. I would like to be able to print the complete contact list and/or print by
each separate list. I just need name and e-mail address.
