Contacts hard to find, edit, alter, and delete
Since the new changes it has become much more difficult to search and edit or delete a single contact. It would be very helpful if a dropdown menu were available to search by several choices such as ending email address or last name or company. partial name, with the ability to select the item and go to edit.

I've created a new list and added one contact however when I go to add more contacts they somehow don't exist ?!? Is it because they're related contacts? There needs to be an easier way to add contacts to lists. This used to have glitches but I was able to work around them. Now, there's no way to add contacts to a list.

I use to be able to go into one of my lists and 'edit' and then add a contact. Now it won't let me add any contacts to my existing lists. I have tried EVERYTHING!
Why has it now stopped me from adding a new contact to an existing list?

When you select the contact, it automatically tries to email them, which is annoying, but when you select "edit" and open their details, you cannot see what lists they are assigned to. The only way to check is to go through all of your lists and do a search.

The contact list worked much better before. It being at the side of the screen makes it hard to edit. I liked it full screen, or at least add that option!

Contact lists seem to lag several days behind contacts, at least as far as changes to email addresses.
If I edit the email address in a contact and save it, it seems to be several days before the contact's email address changes in any lists they're a part of. For several days inserting that contact from a list will add the old email address, not the new one. Even removing that contact from the list, saving the list, then adding the contact back in again will still somehow result in the list picking up the old email address. Despite me checking time and again that the contact has the new email address.
A second problem: When someone changes their email address I'll create a new contact "<their name> (OLD)" with their old email address, after updating the email address in the original contact. Now if I want to add the original contact, which has the new email address, to a list I can't. When searching contacts to add to the list it will only return the "John Doe (OLD)" contact, not the "John Doe" contact. I assume this is because there will be many emails with the old email address and very few with the new email address. If that is the case Yahoo is trying to be too smart. It should return ALL matching contacts for a search, not just the ones it feels I may want.

I find it difficult to edit my contacts and IMPOSSIBLE to add, delete or edit my lists within contacts.
This is unacceptable and will force me to change my email completely -

All I want to do is update my contact details. Apparently I can make them all look lovely but I cant edit them. What is the matter with you people?!

Your new email is atrocious and abhorrent. It couldn't be a worse revision. What in the world did you do.

Many of my contacts from N through Z have vanished. I used to have 20-30 contacts under each letter of the alphabet. Suddenly starting at N I only have 3 or four, the rest are gone.

Michael Yee, You keep posting this to the wrong people. We do NOT work for Yahoo, (or Verizon). We are just USERS, that is 'Consumers', and not employees who can give you the answer you need. In a recent post on this Blog, the ONLY reason I listed the STEPS to handle CONTACT list -- was because I USE Yahoo Email, and I wanted to share ONE solution, Until YAHOO FIXES this!! Michael Yee, you need to contact YAHOO directly.

With the most recent redesign several frustrating issues have appeared:
1) Approximately 90% of 3K +contacts have disappeared! How can they and the adjoining fields along with the important data within them be restored in full in a timely manner? Which silos/portals at Yahoo! can I reach so that this can be addressed? It is not easy to comb through the links and question "trees" in finding the proper channel in addressing this situation.
2) Previous search functionality of metadata for contacts has been removed. If I've included City, Country, Telephone number data or additional notes; I can not search for this information separately and match to appropriate contact(s). Can and will this convenient functionality be implemented again?
3) Where names in Contacts section exceed more than the count of 6 of an identical first name, those other individuals and data are not visible. Searching for and determining and email address and other data for them becomes exceeding more difficult. Can the search algorithm include all data that match and expand the display fields?
Please advise.
Thank you.

Joan Lee, Yes, Yahoo needs to change it (back) to an easier method. In the meantime, I figured out the STEPS to make changes, add, delete, and listed them here on this thread. Look under "Anonymous." Those STEPS do work, but they require patience and time.

I'm apparently in the "old" e-mail for Yahoo. I cannot add a new contact, no matter how I try!!!

There should be a way to view contacts full page, as well as to delete multiple selections of contacts without having to do so one by one in 5 additional steps. I have had yahoo for over 20 years but have switched my lists to gmail as a result of this unnecessary inconvenience.
