Contacts hard to find, edit, alter, and delete
Since the new changes it has become much more difficult to search and edit or delete a single contact. It would be very helpful if a dropdown menu were available to search by several choices such as ending email address or last name or company. partial name, with the ability to select the item and go to edit.

What a joke, not even an explanation of what you need to do when it asks you to tap on account key icon, how do you get the basic stuff so badly wrong baffles me!!!

not only does the contacts not match from the lists but updates and edits to contact lists do not show when adding to email. Then some of that matches and then now certain contacts are not showing up for no reason under the contacts list.

I can't view documents in this format or even see more than one contact at a time. It's not an idea just a problem

Hello Yahoo...I am a paying customer (you don't care, I know....)
The contacts section was bad enough before it was changed, but now:No sorting by last name / Just one line for the name...I would like to input a First Name and a Surname / A tiny little box squeezed to the right side of the screen / Maybe you should let the grown-ups check the changes before they go online.....

To another 'Anonymous' #2. THANK YOU for the compliment! -- NO, I obviously do NOT work for Yahoo (Verizon), the latter which has been TERRIBLE also. (I am 'Anonymous' #1, the originator of this thread of comments about the Problems to Change, Edit, Add, Delete CONTACTS. I posted yesterday the LONG LIST of INSTRUCTIONS.) I should change by name by which to Post Comments. But I might have to go through a similar LONG LIST of instructions !!

We need to have access to the contacts that can be able to assigned into already existing groups.
Making emailing simple and fast needs to be the criteria to tempt for more to come in! -

1) Not able to access any contact - which needs to be assigned into a group of email IDs that I had generated long back.
2) Not able to assign a photo under the my regular signature
These features were very comfortable.
Due to such problems I am switching between Yahoo & Gmail. -

Anonymous commented · October 26, 2019 00:32 : Nice of you take time to solve problem...as torturous as it is. Luckily I only use socially but pity those business users. Obviously you are too intelligent to work for Yahoo (Verizon?). After all this time, with no changes, it makes me think that they are no longer interested in keeping Yahoo mail viable. A shame because it was more user friendly then gmail or outlook. Thanks for your efforts. Appreciated.

Hi, I am the original Commentor in this particular thread COMPLAINT to YAHOO Email. Below are the STEPS we have to take to MAKE CHANGES, ADD or DELETE to CONTACT Lists. Yes, it is ridiculously complicated ! YAHOO NEEDS to FIX THIS! The Posters are Correct -- You CANNOT DELETE a SINGLE NAME !!
A) ALL CONTACTS - How To Make CHANGES: (For separate "Lists", see B below.)
1) Click on Contacts Icon (to right of your email index, on right on screen).
Underneath, you will see: 3 Headings above your list. They are:
Top / All / Lists, then the *** DOT DOT DOT Menu (3 horizontal DOTS).2) Click on 'ALL' -- on the Menu Line
(choice of 'Top' / 'ALL' / 'Lists')3) To ADD a Contact:
Look to bottom. It has: a + (plus) Sign 'Add a new contact'.4 or 5) To EDIT or DELETE Contact -- from 'All' Contacts List:
a) Click on that Actual Contact's Name.
b) Go to the 3 Dots Menu to above right of Name, Click on.
c) You will have 2 choices only - EDIT or DELETE CONTACT.Note: That's it - for ALL CONTACTS. Continue for more.
OR B) Individual (separate) LISTS of CONTACTS - How to Make CHANGES:
(For some weird reason, Changes are different in 'Lists' than in 'ALL' !)1) Click on "All" Contacts Icon --
(SAME as for 'ALL' Contacts in A) above)2) Click on "Lists" -- on the Menu Line
(choice of 'Top' / 'ALL' / 'Lists')3) To ADD a Contact: (SAME as for 'ALL' Contacts in A)
Look to bottom. It has a + (plus) Sign 'Add a new contact'.4 or 5) To EDIT or DELETE Contact --- when in "Lists" of Contacts:
!! NOTE: This is DIFFERENT from 'ALL' Contacts !!.4) the Word "EDIT" is already underneath the 3 DOTS (horizontal),
to the right of the Title of Your Own List - e.g. "Family" Contacts.
CLICK on 'Edit' to Edit a Name within a Sub List of Contacts.!! 5) To DELETE within 'Lists', You must first go through Step 4) and
Click on Edit. THEN, 'Edit List' is Centered in Middle at Top of List.
TO the RIGHT of that, are ANOTHER 3 DOTS (horizontal).
You will see the Word "DELETE"THE Posters are Correct -- You CANNOT DELETE a SINGLE NAME !!!
---- the end --------

I would like the option to be able to arrange my contact list alphabetically by last name - rather than your choice of alphabetically by first name. Also, when I'm composing an email and I click on "To" , I'd like my entire list to appear with boxes to check for the names I want that particular email to go to.

What empty suit changed the e-mail contact list applications for no particular reason?
-
jlh commented
When I write an e-mail and enter an address, some of them show a different avatar (different initials) and the name that goes with the wrong initials.
The help page is useless. Trying to find any support to correct this is a joke. I've been using Yahoo mail about since the beginning and, as time goes on, your help and support disappears.
Never a response from Yahoo other than automated links which don't cover very much. We're going to start using Outlook more. You're making us change. -

Please fire the MORON who changed the contact processing.

In the stupid new contact processing, I can no longer find all the lists a particular contact is in, of if it is in any lists at all. What moron changed the contact handling?

I need a way to access ALL my contacts, not just the ones Yahoo allows. Help!

I always update my contacts in Yahoo, then synch them to my Android mobile. This has not been working for at least 2 months, maybe longer. Your Helpdesk says it will one day be fixed by an update. Please prioritise this function.

I need the ability to import a whole list of contacts from other databases. As in, not facebook etc. I can not manually ener over 100 email addresses at a time, then go back in and add them to a group. So annoying!!!!

David Thomas commented
Please let me ad and delete my contacts manually! This automatic **** doesn't work!

Do not duplicate contact entries in "ALL" list when contact is part of a group list. New mail requires a contact entry in the ALL list BEFORE it can be added to a GROUP list, but then a second entry also appears in the ALL list. (An export of the ALL file shows only ONE name - very confusing.) Also provide a contact sort by LAST name.

Yes, it is not easy as compared to old one and gmail, especially in early version it is easy to save or edit from "inbox" or "sent items" now we cann't do it from here each and every time we want to open address book and it is also not use friendly, so kindly retain such old futures
