Ditch OpenWeb and moderate the comment section yourself, Yahoo.
Obviously there will always be toxic users, and from all angles of opinions, but OpenWeb cannot be trusted to responsibly moderate a comment section. How is it that an articles about monkeys or primates in general can be posted, yet we cannot even use such words in our comments. Yes, they can be used in insulting manners, but not everyone is that immature. As long as actual vulgar words are weeded out, it should be up to a human operator to review reports and determine if the commentor responded with maturity or it was meant to be offensive. If Yahoo cannot be responsible for itself and hire a team to moderate, you might as well get rid of the comment section like before. OpenWeb is a direct violation of freedom of speech when its algorithm has falsely red flagged countless things that can be said with innocence.
Just get rid of the comment section. Only the arrogant people who intend on leaving toxic comments will be upset since no one can hear what they have to say.
