As with most things I'm finding with the new UI (like AI summaries), there is no way to turn it off.
I appreciate you folks trying to update the UI and make things simple and clean, but you have neglected the fact that some people relied on some of the old features in the old UI or may not want some of the new features in the new UI. Allowing the ability to turn a feature on or off should have been #1 on the list when creating the new UI.
I can't believe I'm paying for Yahoo Mail Plus and I have to basically beg to get features I used back into the UI, or to turn off new features that I don't want or I have no use for in a personal email account (i.e. AI summaries). It's really disappointing.

This Right Side Panel (Contacts, Starred, Etc.) is what has prevented me from using the new Yahoo! Mail and I keep switching back and forth to see if you've given us a way to collapse it. Nothing has happened yet, but now today you've also removed my ability to switch back.
Not a very nice thing to do to a paying customer. Yes, I pay for ad-free Yahoo! Mail and I have been for over a decade! I would appreciate being given the ability to switch back to the old Yahoo! Mail again.
I don't mind switching back and forth and giving you folks feedback, but forcing a paying customer to be a UX QA Engineer for you without pay is not the way to do it.

I've paid for Yahoo Mail for years to get rid of the ads (I know, crazy huh?) but this new mail upgrade is NOT worth paying for. It's too clunky, hard to find things, and my biggest peeve is.....anything new that's turned on, there is no configuration to shut it off. I keep sending my feedback to them and never get a response so I don't know if they are really reading any of the comments.
So, like other people, after 25+ years I'm looking for a new email provider. It's going to be a pain in the butt but I'm a paying customer and they took away what I was paying for.
I've created an account at ProtonMail and I'm slowly working my way towards moving everything over there. I can't tell you how disappointed I am, Yahoo Mail.
