I think Miguel mis-spoke. This feature is **not** useful when two windows are being displayed side by side because then the real-estate that remains to work with is 1/2 what it used to be. Therefore this blank (for me) box where starred messages or contacts might be displayed is taking up approx 1/3 of the right side of the screen for no good reason, cutting off the valuable information in the email section of the screen. One just needs the ability to collapse that right column, or turn it off permanently in settings. IMO

I'm having a hard time, at a glance, seeing which email lines are read vs unread. It would be nice if there was some other symbol or distinguishing feature to help me SEE it more easily. I run dark mode, am color blind, but don't think it should be so hard to see bold vs not bold. (?)
