That might not be fair to your opponents in H2H daily leagues. PPD's are what they are and you just need to suck it up and manage with what you got when rain gets in the way. Btw, very often PPD's are made up with a double-header the very next day or later on in the season. That means you'll get to make up for it with extra starts from those PPD'd players the previous day. Giving you extra moves through that IL+ idea in baseball that you are suggesting, will be unfair to your opponents, unless they too had the same number of PPD's you had and got to also claim another player for each PPD. See what I mean? If they didn't have any PPD's, and hence didn't get to make any extra player claims to replace PPD's, they'll likely end up with less starts than you at the end of the week. In hockey perhaps that's not a problem but I wouldn't know coz I don't play the hockey game so don't know the ins n outs.

Yahoo giving way too much importance to those playing in lots of leagues. The match wins for those guys w/ lots of teams in different leagues will earn lots of points, while their losses lose few points in their individual rating. The opposite occurs to those with few leagues, like me... and probably to you too.

Now why does Yahoo do this? That is my question...

Well let's see... my humble belief is that they do it to motivate (more like, FORCE) Fantasy Sports enthusiasts from all around the world to sign up for lots of leagues every year for each and every sport they play.

And, what does Yahoo win out of people playing in lots of league, you might ask...

Well, the more teams people sign up for every contest (baseball, football, hockey, bk-ball, etc), the more annoying ads and propaganda Yahoo will be able to shove at your face... and therefore, their payday at the end of the year will be mega enhanced. Simple, my dear Watson, simple!

In other words, their seemingly "beautiful" Fantasy Ratings System (to enhance competition and the "overall fantasy sports experience", as they claim) is nothing but a clever, carefully orchestrated, publicity gimmick to bring in the green in promotions to fill their pockets, year-in and year-out, because competitive sports will never go away.

Not even a worldwide pandemic could stop professional sports. So there you have it.

So it looks like the same flaws I see in the Yahoo Fantasy Baseball rating system are ubiquitous. That is... they are present in other Yahoo Fantasy Sports as well. Yep, it is definitely time for Yahoo to either look into fixing this mess, or trash the rating system altogether; because, as others have expressed throughout these suggestion posts, IT IS creating quite a bit of angst. Angst should NOT be part of the Fantasy Sports experience.

The answer to that is probably because the folks at Yahoo don't know what they're doing. I was Diamond too - barely, but Diamond at like 915 or so just a few short years ago - but then suddenly Yahoo started taking away lots of points. They subtracted 10 points here, 9 pts there for every H2H loss I've had these past three years... and have only added to my tab 1 or 2 points for every H2H win, regardless of opponent. The max I get now for a win is maybe like 4 or 5 silly points if the score is quite large, like 11-1. This seems to be the case even when I beat other top contenders by a wide margin. But when I look to see how any points other teams in my league (some of whom are sub-platinum rating) get when they win a H2H match, I see them getting 10 to 12 points for each H2H match win. Unvelievable! And when they lose a match (even by a wide margin) they only lose 1-5 points. It's crazy. Not fair at all. I have continued to win during these past three years as I used to when I used to play in lots of leagues, but my rating has been steadily dropping to the 840-something range or so. This year.. at the conclusion of this week, I will be in either 1st or 2nd place in my league... but currently I've only been able to bring my rating up 10 points to 857. This week I'm winning 9-2 so far going on Sunday against another top contender. We'll see how many points Yahoo will add to my rating and how many the other guy will lose. I will post it here just for a good laugh. Btw, the one match that I've lost this year (in week 2) cost me 12 points. This only because, once again, Yahoo seems to be punishing my losses more severely than they are rewarding my H2H wins. This is all so stupid. So I've come to the conclusion that Yahoo's rating system is completely flawed, and therefore, not worth paying too much attention to. I will happily proceed to win another championship this year, or earning another 2nd place finish to the bunch that I already have, with or without a fair rating from Yahoo. Their rating no longer means anything to me.

I was thinking though, maybe the fact that, over the past few years, I've chosen to only play in the one private H2H league (a cash keeper prize league I've commished since 2012) has something to do with Yahoo's unfair rating system (where they remove lots of points for losses than they add for wins). After all, they do have in their rating a "rule" stating that you need to play in "multiple leagues" to get a higher rating. But hey, some of us are do work for a living! I'm a busy man. I must spare some time for work and to run my personal business and investments too. Not like fantasy sports should be the only thing we do in life, Yahoo!! And lot like playing darn online games is all we're in the world for. There's a freaking planet to run here! Lmao

Good to see y'all had already started this petition for DTD to become an extension of the IL in fantasy baseball and basketball. I guess I was too lazy to check for similar petitions the other day before posting my petition for the same thing.

Anyway, I asked everyone in my 10-yr keeper cash league to stop by to vote it up. So in checking the ranking for the petition now I see that Yahoo has merged our petitions since they are basically rooting for the same. That's actually a good thing.

Yahoo has also merged my petition as a comment in your petition, which you can see in this comments section.

We are now 30th in the ranking. So let's go guys... let's continue to spread this around. Post the link to this petition in all your Yahoo fantasy leagues, regardless of sport. I'm sure many of the guys in hockey and football leagues also field baseball and basketball leagues on Yahoo. We really DO need DTD to work more like IL/ IR for all sports.

It would be great if Yahoo were to assign the IL designation to injured players who are expected to be out for an extended period of time due to surgery or a bad injury early on before the season. Having to wait until April for MLB to officially place those players on their official IL does not seem right. It is more than obvious that some of those players will be on the IL for a month or two, perhaps longer. Good examples of the type of injured players I speak of are Zack Britton, who just got surgery and is expected out until June at the earliest, and Seth Lugo, who also got surgery and is expected out until at least mid May. Those guys are currently DTD and occupying bench spots because DTD is not really considered a real designation by Yahoo. DTD is basically just there for looks.. It serves no real purpose other than let you know the player may have a nagging injury or something is up with him that may keep him out of the lineup. But many truly injured players are often given the DTD label and their fantasy owners can't move them out of the way since DTD is no real designation. Early on the season, DTD keeps fantasy owners from moving injured players out of the way to target temporary replacements in prep for the start of the season. Like Britton and Lugo, there are many other even more valuable players with the DTD tag. Injured players that are likely months away from returning. But it would be a mistake to just cut them in deeper leagues or in keeper/ Dynasty formats. It seems particularly unfair for us that play the H2H format and have a limited number of moves allowed per week (Acq/ Week) to have to wait until after April 1 when MLB officially places their injured on the IL. At that point we will be forced to use our valuable (and limited) Acq/ Week moves for week 1 just to fill those spots... something we could have done much earlier without having to spare a week 1 move to do it. Yahoo, we know you are just playing by the book by making us wait for MLB to label injured players w/ the IL designation. But at the very least please make DTD a real injury designation or consider creating a new designation - say like, TO for Temporarily Out (much like y'all did for COVID-19 players) - so that we may get some of the injured players (the ones with surgeries and extended recoveries ahead) out of the way until they are officially placed on the IL by their teams once MLB kicks off. This will give us a chance to continue making roster moves and prepping up ahead of April 1 without having to use our limited week 1 roster moves (for those in H2H formats). Nothing much to ask… just create sort of a transient IL (a Temporarily Out) designation where we can get important injured players out of the way without having to drop them. In fact, it would be even easier if the DTD designation worked the same as the COVID-19 designation. All of those injured players I speak of are currently labeled as DTD, even though we all know many will be out for weeks or months. Why not make the DTD designation a temporary IL designation that will allow us to put injured players away for a few days until players either go on the extended IL or get healthy? Like the COVID-19 designation for players with Covid or for those that have been quarantined due to suspicion of Covid. It will help everyone tremendously, especially as stated, early on before the season begins; and it will be even more useful for those in H2H leagues that can only make a limited number of weekly FA/ waiver transactions after April 1.

Good idea for those of us that like the slow drafts.

We hold ours on a Google Sheets spreadsheet online. So it's an offline draft. Lots of fun though. Our draft usually takes 8-11 days. First few years it used to take like 16 or 17 days to get it done. But after 10 years of doing it we knock it off in like 8 or so.

Maybe if Yahoo had longer timer options as you petition, we would consider doing ours on Yahoo. But our offline draft has gotten pretty elaborate w/ OTC timer and a bunch of other stuff. Very creative and intense. Lots of fun, much like the real thing.

    I'm voting up your idea.

You can contact them via email. Not very difficult task... hold a roll call via email and those that don't reply by a deadline lose their spot. Easy done.

Of course, cut them some slack for a few extra days if they are good owners. Don't want to get too strict either.

100% in agreement of increased roster size. They should just let the league Commissioners set their own roster size. My 10-yr keeper league is already maxed out to 30, but I wish I could increase it some to say 36 or even 40. Love the deep formats. Voted up.

Please consider voting up my suggestion for making the DTD a real designation that we can use to stash injured players out of the way while waiting for them to be given the IL designation. Thanks.

I agree. I think currently Yahoo only allows league Commissioners to set up their fantasy playoffs after week 18 or so of the MLB season. Not completely sure but I think that's what I remember seeing when I set up my keeper league a few weeks ago for this year's event. It would be awesome if league Commissioners can set up shorter events using the Yahoo Commissioner tools; say to hold a fantasy season of only 10 weeks with playoffs in weeks 9 & 10. That way there will still be like 12 more weeks of MLB action to set up a second season that all of your leagues' winners will be able to join... much like a tourney. I wonder if other sites allow this though.

So your issue with Ohtani is...? How does separating his hitting from his pitching a bad thing??

If the Ohtani owners were to rack up his pitching stats and his hitting stats by simply keeping him in one active slot (say a pitching spot), then that would make Ohtani a super player going 1st overall in fantasy drafts everywhere because you would would have an awesome pitcher and an awesome hitter compressed into one player and one slot.

Idk, but I think his offense and his pitching must be kept separated - just as it is currently.

I agree. My rating since that yr is 913 in Diamond area but Ixm sure it'll be much higher if previous seasons are included. That is, as long as it is based on the H2H game. In roto for some reason I stopped kicking buttt a couple of years ago. Can't win a **** roto league anymore lol! But in h2h things are still sweet.

Please include pre-2009 H2H leagues too if it is possible.

I can now see the two divisions in my h2h baseball league. But my keeper league follows both divisional and overall rankings. Yet the app only displays the games back (GB) for teams within the division, and not for overall rankings, which is just as important.
