Playoffs - Odd number of teams and more Bye week options
This playoff format would allow for an odd number of teams in the playoffs and other options for Bye weeks in the first week of playoffs. Currently, this is not an option for playoff formats.

I mean what is the bfd? Its just code? Change it!
Your playoff set up has sucked ever since you took away the 2 week championship. -

I think there used to be an option to do 2 week playoffs about 8-10 year ago? Am I thinking of another site? In any case, it needs to be done!
Thanks!

Agree. Agree. Agree. More flexibility!
I like the consolation bracket, but why can't that be an option to turn on and off?
I would really like to see the option to make all playoff matchups 2 weeks. I think that this would result in a more fair playoff matchup result. At the very least, the championship should be 2 weeks. It always used to be.

The past 4 seasons, I've pain-stakingly done my league's entire playoffs manually through a spreadsheet. Please end this month of work for me and improve your game all at once.
But mostly for me.
Please.

No, the 2 categories were split, they are not thrown out. Each team gets 1/2 a point per category if they are tied, so in affect, you won 6-4.

Update. After I tied the higher-seed team in the semi-finals, he went on to win the League Championship. The Consolation Game for 3rd Place, I tied the team who finished 1st Place during the regular season. I won 5 stand-alone categories, my opponent won 3 stand-alone categories, but we tied in ERA and Saves. I held my breath overnight to see how this was going to turn out and to my amazement, I won 3rd Place, 5 to 3. The two category ties must have been thrown out??! Maybe this should be the new playoff rules, if during a playoff game their is a tie, throw the tie category(ies) out and give the win to the most deserving team, not the higher seed!!

There is the 6 x 6 option where the top 6 teams play for the championship and the bottom 6 play in the consolation bracket.

Our league determines draft order for the following season based on the results of regular season and playoff outcomes. Our 11 year old league recently expanded from 10 to 12 teams.
As a way to prevent late season tanking by the lower seeded teams trying to get the first pick in the draft, we had decided to use the consolation bracket in our 10 team league to let the bottom 4 teams battle it out to determine the draft order, rather than use regular season standings.
When we switched to a 12 team league this year, we were shocked to learn that the consolation bracket teams had changed from the bottom 4 teams to the 4 teams that lost in the championship bracket.
My suggestion is that Yahoo allow commissioners the option to choose the rules of the consolation bracket, so that we can continue to use the 4 bottom teams in a consolation bracket rather than the default of having the 4 losing teams in an 8 man playoff go to a consolation bracket after losing.

If this game had been a regular season game, the score would have been 5-5 and a tie, not 5-4-1. The same tiebreaker is used during the season to determine the winner of WHIP and ERA if needed.
Since the game happened in the playoffs, there cannot be a tie. Hot Tomales won because they were the higher seed.

I know what you are saying and I know what the playoff rules say, but I don't have to agree with the rules. I might be wrong, but if this was a regular season game my record on this would be
5-4-1 and my opponents would be 4-5-1. So why confuse things by letting my opponent win with an asterick! I suppose if the tied category would have been Wins, then I still would have lost! I may reconsider my yahoo Fantasy Baseball for another Fantasy Baseball that has different rules, next year! -

Just recently, I lost a tie playoff game being a 3rd place regular season finisher facing a 2nd place finisher. I had 5 stand alone category points and a tie in WHIP. My opponent had 4 stand alone category points and a tie in WHIP with me, of course. Now if you break it down in detail my opponent had est. 1.2110000 and I had est. 1.2109000. So in Yahoo rules my opponent wins!???
OK now if I had 5 stand alone category points and my opponent had 4, but we tie in Wins (pitcher cat) then I win!?? What I can't see is what is the difference? I believe I won both examples!!
I strongly believe that this rule needs to be examined and adjusted!!! I do not have faith in Yahoo changing this, however I believe I have a strong argument. Please reply to my email on this. Thank you.

Yes yes yes!!! Please yahoo, ESPN and CBS allow for this option. There needs to be an option to allow for each round of the playoffs to be for the standard one week OR for TWO WEEKS. Two week long per round playoffs matchups is a much more fair reflection of the teams' true abilities - It's like a best of 7 playoff series in real life MLB.
Only allowing a one week playoff matchup for each round is like a Wild Card play-in game where anything can happen and teams that actually have more skilled managers lose out to an inferior team and it's often fluky. PLEASE ADD TWO WEEK PER ROUND PLAYOFF OPTION.
CBS and ESPN fantasy have had this as an option for years.
Especially for baseball being such a long regular season, to have round be only one week in the playoffs is brutal and unfair.

This season for baseball and football, in public and pro leagues, there is only 1 tiebreaker and that is seeding.
In private leagues, the commish has the option to have H2H be the first tiebreaker, then seeding the 2nd and final tiebreaker.

I just tied in the playoffs and lost. My opponent had the higher seed but I had the better win% against him in reg season. I thought this would get me the win. It's a standard default scoring head2head league and from what I read in the rules...I got hosed
