[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

In some leagues I play Message Boards are just interesting banter and league business, in some it is an intergal part of the league with trades, recruiting, beefs compliments all depending on them. A few mostly public leagues are unused and useless.
I just tried to use the system Yahoo now forces us to use and with many leagues to monitor I was finding correspondence from 4 yrs. ago before I found something current. It's unnavigable confusing and will not be used by me. I will ignore that blue box in the corner as I did before. I would say 5-6 of my leagues are debating where to play next yr if this is the way it's to be. Promises of bettering the forced system fall lame and seem as a carrot. If its going to be better when finished, Yahoo should have waited until it was done. I was considering cutting down on my Yahoo leagues anyway because of you outdated PreDraft Ranking system but that's another post. -

YAHOO - I have never seen such solidarity. Cut out the monkey business and return the message board to these fine folks.

THIS is Terrible the message boards are a way for every to talk smack but more important keep up with any issues or questions from players, horrible choice to eliminate them

This is lame. Talking smack is more than half the fun. Don't ruin things needlessly, Yahoo.

Why have message boards been taken away? This is critical for drumming up interest in trades, discussing keepers, and discussing any rule change ideas for the leagues. Taking away this feature depersonalizes the leagues.

why would you do this? this is ridiculous. the chat is terrible for important things....the msg board is great.
honestly this is something else that may make me take my 8 or so leagues off of yahoo...

Fantasy chat are you kidding me? Message boards provide info or questions to us right there on the league page.
Since we apparently have less and less content every year, I assume fantasy sports is not a priority on Yahoo. Shame it was once my most used site but that was long ago. Downhill spiral every since. Still the best for sports IMO, but with the changes this year it looks like they want to kill it. -

The message boards provide alot of info to the whole League at ONCE. KEEP IT.

This is a huge loss for our league, which uses the message boards exclusively for communication. Really disappointing.

Why remove this feature?

It does not seem that I can set a custom order for my draft without going through and setting the order FOR EACH ROUND. is there any way around this? I feel like every year I have been able to set an order, and this year I do not see that available.

After 22 years on Yahoo, my league voted 10-0 to move to Fantrax.
Fantrax:
- Is free
- Has Message Boards
- Was super easy for everyone to sign up
- Has Shohei Ohtani as one SP/DH eligible player
- Has so many other features that aren't available on Yahoo
- Fantasy sports is Fantrax's entire business, so it's their top priority, unlike for YahooWe would have stayed on Yahoo for 2023 if Message Boards had been reinstated --- but now that we've moved to Fantrax, we are very glad that we did.

While this android plays in public leagues and is thus not as affected as those in private leagues, it doesn't seem the best idea to remove a mode of communication that people rely upon. Indeed, it seems like a very poor call. Best guess? Hidden motive somewhere. Either they want to eliminate Fantasy altogether in small steps, or they want to add everything back as part of a pay service. In any case, everybody wants the boards back. Seems it would be easy to restore them, and that's what Yahoo should do-

message boards are great ways to relay info and get feedback. commissioner notes are dumb, only a one way street. chat only works on the app and not on the website so it is very limited. dumbest decision ever removing these

If Yahoo doesn't reinstate their message boards, the 3 leagues that I'm commissioner in will be switching to a different platform. This is totally unacceptable and non-negotiable.

If the message board is not reactivated asap, we‘ll transfer our league (to espn, frantrax et al.) that we‘ve had for 17 years…Too bad. We‘ll draft Monday.

I find the message board is critical in communication within the league for trades, league announcements, keeper information or possible league change settings. It is very convenient to go to the league page to find this information and not have to look for an email or chat. In another account I have leagues go to fantrax.

Absolutely ridiculous, worst decision ever made by Yahoo Fantasy.
Based on the response they have already received you would think they would have made a decision to reverse this useless decision!
Some exec made a decision and they are afraid to challenge the powers that be!

Horrible decision. We use the message boards for lots of preseason activities, as well as, in season chatter. It’s in one place and easy for anyone to access throughout the season. We post preseason trades, preseason franchise players (we have a set of custom rules we use for keepers) and other chatter. In season we use it to post wants/ needs, talk about rule changes and just general league chatter. It’s nice and neat in one place. The fantasy group chat is not always looked at by everyone and also gets bogged down by transactions. Bring back the message boards!!!

This is still a garbage decision. Moved one league to Fantrax this year to try it out. Likely to move the rest after this year. It's a similar product except they have this breakthrough feature that makes it stand out over Yahoo by about a mile. Anyone want to guess what it is?
