[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Unbelievably stupid decision to end message boards. I play only survivor leagues with multiple challenges and the board is essential to running those right. Have played in them for 17 years. Now my buddies are bailing out to Fantrax. Come on, Yahoo... Make it right!

my league used the message board to draft.

Taking out message boards is very stupid. League chats are cluttered and disorganized. I would say that whoever came up with this idea should be fired. But I know in reality the reason this probably happened is because you DID fire people who are in charge of the tech issues behind the message boards. All so you could save some money. I hope the savings were worth it because I will strongly be advising all of my leagues on Yahoo to use a different site next season (since it's too late to change now). Thanks for being terrible!

Please, please -- bring the message boards back. As a commissioner of many leagues, it has become impossible to communicate with league members. The Fantasy Chat isn't enough. Email isn't enough.
With the message boards, I can post league rules for everyone to see and use as a reference. I can communicate with the entire league with one message. Without them, it has been a nightmare, and the baseball season hasn't even started yet.
Please reconsider this. I have been using Yahoo for over 10 years, and I pay for Yahoo +.

no thrilled about this. Difficult to get a season going not being able to communicate easily.

What a horrible decision. These are key for league communication. Few people are interested in Chat, so that's not at all a valid replacement for this essential functionality.
Granted this change still isn't as bad as the horrible player card redesign "beta" being forced on to people with no way to opt out. Is the current (mis)management team for Yahoo Fantasy just trying to drive people away and kill off the product?

Why move the feature until there is a replacement? This should have been a question asked during the 2022 season to make a new feature for 2023. That being said, a new message board that is more visible on both the app and website would be good. Right now there are a few different places to go to. Fantasy chat, message board, league email. In leagues playing with friends its not a problem. In leagues with random people, it causes people to miss messages. There should be a centralized way to reach people that message with an email and maybe even goes to chat. Either way, there needs to a something that notifies players better that there is a message.

Removing the message board feature, especially without warning is probably a bad idea. We've completely moved our message board to a Facebook group now. I've been hosting my dynasty leagues on Yahoo for 18 seasons now and we do our rookie drafts completely through the message boards. It was such a challenge to get everyone to another site to host all communications and I lost two long time managers because of this. I wish you would allow the message boards back and allow leagues the option to utilize this feature nor not. None of our communications will use the chat feature. All of our league history is on these message boards. I will now have to figure out how to get in touch with a majority of my managers for Fantasy Basketball and Football I don't have personal information for. Some don't check email. Not everyone uses the fantasy app. I know this couldn't have only affected my leagues, but this was a terrible move to make without providing advance warning or an alternative. We may move our leagues to another host next season without the message board feature.

What is the logic and rationale as to why the Message board was deleted?

Need place on both app and desktop to access these communications as well as for historical reference (I.e. keepers, rules votes). May need to look elsewhere.

Pulling the plug before having a more direct method of communication was not a smart move.

This is an awful decision and one that very well may lead me to move my various Fantasy Leagues from YAHOO to a different platform. That Message Board was our MAIN WAY of communicating trade offers, league changes, league votes, league notes, etc. Would love to know why this decision was made...particularly without any prior warning.

We have been playing Yahoo Fantasy Baseball since 1999 with almost half of my managers remaining since 1999. There has been many great upgrades and changes to Yahoo's Fantasy Baseball over the years, however removing a portal of communication is forcing older players away from comfortable and transparent means of communication. The Message Board was a simple way to communicate with the league and transparent on the league home page. For the past 15 years, we have had a Keeper League with offline drafting for 2 rounds of picks. Posting the picks on the Message Board was our primary communication method. Please reconsider eliminating the Message Board.

All those other options are just not as convenient as the message board at this point. You've got work to do. You probably should have had a better developed alternative before pulling the rug out.

Our league will never use the worthless chat function. If the message boards are not restored, we will not return next year.

This is a terrible decision. If you're trying to force people on to Fantasy Chat good luck, my league will use our WhatsApp group over that.

Just FYI, my league, which has used Yahoo! for over 20 years, is switching to another platform next year because of this.

I use the message board for all my historical tracking. Unless there is another option for me to track league votes, rule changes, etc. this could be a major issue and could cause me to leave yahoo for sleeper.
