[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

We use message boards to discuss and vote on league rule changes, post keepers, and determine workable draft dates for the league. We used message boards for rules clarifications and questions. Many of our league members do not have the app for chat access. "email league" does not give the members the opportunity to respond to the latest messages in a "reply all" type process.
We used message boards for all primary league communications. Give and take is an important part of a fantasy league. The replacement must give users the ability to separate discussions by topic and stack messages within that topic.
It is somewhat ironic that Yahoo has built a forum format very like the fantasy message boards to solicit feedback on this and other issues. It seems that this suggests that the developers understand the utility of this format. Any replacement must offer similar utility.
Our league has played on Yahoo for 20 years. This is the first time we have seriously considered changing platforms. Thanks for listening.

Yahoo continues to ruin what used to be well-designed fantasy sports. Why do we no longer see the heights and weights of athletes? Is that more woke insanity? Sure smells like it.
Every year you clowns do something new to make Yahoo Sports less fun. Great job geniuses!

It’s going to suck without message boards. I have to email 11 teams to make a comment ?

This sucks because the commish scammed us and I cant even call him out on it. Its only $25 but poeple like that shouldnt get to be a commish. Total weak sauce!

This is dumb! We will be moving leagues sites due to this decision!

Please bring back the league message boards.

They are needed and no rationale of any kind has been offered for their removal.

Not everyone looks at the chat messages, but everyone looked at the chat board. This is a huge mistake to get rid of the chat boards. I don't see why you do this

This is absolutely terrible. What is the point of this??

Carl McCulley commented
Our league used this a lot, and going to private emails and messaging is not going that well so far.

This is awful. My league used yahoo fantasy since 2001(!) and we are moving our league to ESPN because of this stupid decision.

Where is the chat function? Can't seem to locate it, not easily anyway if it does exist. Thanks,

This is virtually impossible to manage a league with the current set-up. I'm trying to email/commissioner's note as often as possible, but still not close to as effective as message boards. PLEASE, for all that is holy, BRING BACK MESSAGE BOARDS!!!

no change I see

I used the message board all the time, both for posting and reading updates. Now we can't use it anymore? Email is fine, but the message board was ten times better.

This is a terrible idea. Until you have another option in place (plans for chat) that is also browser supported, taking away the message board is a major pain **********. I'm already having trouble just coordinating which managers are returning to our keeper league, who people want to keep, etc. The (vast) majority are mainly browser users, not app users, and don't even know where or how to access "chat". Taking away message boards, right now as it stands, is a big mistake.

As commish in multiple dynasty leagues on Yahoo, I posted league rules on the message board and it was an easy place for players to search for historical information. We will try it this way for now and hopefully there is a better way, but I was disappointed to learn that message boards were taken away. For now, I'm using the Commissioners note to post info about the league, hopefully this is enough

Put the message board back, you’ve effectively ruined the league we started 20 years ago. We’re about to fold because we can no longer talk and do all of our pre season setup. DON’T DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have posted my concerns about you removing the message boards in the very first few pages of which you entirely ignored as I'm thinking why write this if you continue to ignore your users. But here goes,
Since you will not back track your awful and user feedback response to put the message boards back on for this season, do the following:
Allow Fantrax migration and a sync module making it easier for us to end our relationship with yahoo fantasy sports. Since you don't care about us, it shouldn't be a big ask.
Just do the right thing and allow us to sync current and former data. If you can't do the right thing, most of us already understand that you will only make things worse as time goes on and it won't be a surprise to continue to ignore us, but at least have some balls and let your users leave with a positive thing that yahoo did.
Asap would be nice and you will never have to see me post again.
Thank you.
