[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Terrible - message boards are how I checked everything!
Fantrax is a platform that one of my leagues is switching to.

I guess I'm just adding to the fuel here. As the person who finished with 3 of the top 6 teams overall (and 7 in the top 50) last season in Yahoo Roto Baseball, I'd like to think my feedback should help here. I agree with all of you about being upset about this. Makes no sense. As someone who also works in research for a day job, I'd like to think Yahoo would have looked into some consumer insights to help them with this decision. Obviously, that was not the case; which is really sad because Yahoo doesn't have a lot going for it anymore. Other content platforms are better, very few use it for mail, it's Fantasy offering has always been user-friendly and better in my opinion than other platforms. That said, when I saw a bogus trade in one of my leagues this morning, instead of posting about it; where some people get alerts, others don't, most check the league page, I saw at the top that message boards were disabled. I could either email the league, which is super annoying (I always delete those emails, or don't check them since my fantasy accounts are not tied to a mail I actually use) or do nothing. What a shame Yahoo.

Terrible move. Message boards are rhe best, easiest way to communicate with tne league. Chat is more of an annoyance than anything. Why does Yahoo keep making changes that drive people to other fantasy hosts?

Poor decision on Yahoo's part. Chats get too cluttered up with league transactions and chats. Very hard to sort thru all that garbage to find a certain topic. League message boards are so much better. Everything gets time stamped and archived to easily look at anytime.
Yahoo, bring back the message boards or you are going to lose a lot of fantasy players to your competitors. -

Keep the message boards please. Best form of league communication

Sounds like lip service to me. I don't think you welcome feedback at all. The forums were great. You took them away. We complained and you didn't care. You're not going to care now either. Message boards are useful. Message board posts show up in your e-mail. Chats do not. No one reads the chat. Go ahead, keep making your site worse. Go home Pat yourself on the back. Pretend you're doing a good job. In a word -PATHETIC.

Getting rid of the message boards is a bad decision. It is a direct way for all to see posts from managers where they can give feedback about Commish notes or any important topic.

Setting up a new league and want managers' inputs on many topics. not having a message board really makes this difficult. not happy with you, Yahoo.

It's necessary for easy communication.

This is a ridiculous idea.
Message boards are used to distribute information in every league I’m in.
Most also use them to create a record of discussions and decisions in regards to league rules and rulings.
I’ve been fighting for a couple years to keep the leagues I’m in on yahoo, while others are campaigning to move to other providers.
IF IT IS YAHOO’S INTENT TO PUSH THEIR LOYAL USERS ELSEWHERE, THEY ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK.
The goal is apparently to drive off all of the old, established Users, and focus on their money leagues and sports betting functions. -

First time I hear about FANTRAX, looking into that platform for my possible deletion of my Yahoo account in it's entirety (email etc).. Many years here and now see myself leaving it all behind. I remember Yahoo back in the day on their chatrooms and messenger, crazy times and met a lot of people along the way.

Horrible decision. The message board is the attraction for some owners in our private league between friends. We're already looking at other options for this season.
Meanwhile, Fantasy Chat doesn't currently seem to be a league option. Why shut down a feature before the replacement feature is in place?

Bring back message boards!!! Echoing the comments of the vast majority of of others------message boards are a critical component to our league's communication. We use it to post motions for pre-draft rule changes, votes on rule changes as well as discussion about the best date and time for our on-line draft. As important as that is--------the message board functions as our main means of communication for adds/drops throughout the season. I've been commissioner of our league for 15 years with Yahoo. We're at a point, like many others, to ditching Yahoo for another platform. I'd prefer to stay with Yahoo, but will likely drop it if this asinine decision isn't changed. Please get this corrected, with at minimum owners the option to use message boards.

League message boards are a very important tool in running a league. Leagues run offline drafts, post rules and messages on them that can be easily read at anytime during the season. E-mails go mostly unread or lost and can't be easily found later when needed. League message boards are very handy for guys like myself that are in multiple leagues across multiple yahoo Id's.
Getting rid of the message boards is a very bad decision. Remove the league chats if you want to get rid of anything. Those are used far less than he message boards.

For sure whoever made this poorly decision does not play in any fantasy league.

Very poor idea! Hate chats. Delete chats and stay with message board is much better.

I always used message boards as I hate chatting

Bring back message boards! Why would you even consider removing? Must be for money - draw advertising somehow else at our expense. This absolutely tanks our league’s back and forth, posting of trades, talking smack, all. One of the worst decisions I have seen by yahoo after playing yahoo fantasy sports for 20 years.
