[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

In a 14 team league it was the way the league communicated and talked about things/changes. We have voted and left Yahoo to go to CBS which we are paying for, that is how much we used the message board that we agreed to pay on another site.

I'd be more okay with this if the league chat was present on your website in each league overview. CBS, Fantrax and ESPN have all had the league chat on the league pages for years. I understand wanting to encourage people to use your app, but this is silly. I actually like your app and I use it. But you're just gonna make people leave your website for other fantasy sites with this approach.

Stupid Idea. We used this to track rule violations (too many goalies), track dues and help us remember from year to year what was agreed upon and various points of view. Curious as to why Yahoo would decide this should be eliminated?

it was the best way to have managers communicate. we've now tried email league, but it's not as effective. very disappointed to lose this easy way to communicate right on the league site. not a good change.

That SUCKS. Message board was a way to communicate easily and have a little league wide razzing.

Everything we do in our league was run through the message boards. Yea, we use the chat for just that … chatting. Otherwise, we ran our offline draft, multi team trades, draft picks, protected NA players, cross sport trading, conflicts, polls, etc.. all through the message boards. You have done your patrons an extreme disservice by taking them away. Especially without prior notification. Our dynasty league is going on 14 years now, but I’m afraid Yahoo will lose a lot of business to other fantasy sites including ours.

I cannot overstate how critical this is to our league. We record extra transaction details in message board such as dollar amounts for auction cash etc.

Another Yahoo! classic. If it ain't broke...take it away. You have bigger problems to fix than this. Bring back the boards.

We used the Message Board for League wide postings, conflict resolution and voting. Haven't used Fantasy chat much and people in our leagues only used it for inane chatter and never anything important. Maybe that will change but I liked having the message board as an easy place to check out important topics facing the league. Afraid those subjects will get lost in the inane chatter of fantasy chat.

Bring back the message boards!

Looking for a new platform. The comment board is half of the fun of fantasy sports and how most communication and conflict resolution occurs. This is a terrible decision.

But chat isn't even available on the website, so how are those of us who prefer not to use a tiny phone screen going to communicate... email? Really? The message boards were perfect... in your face, as you logged in each day, to tend to your teams. Now, there's no way to have a conversation.

This is horrible! I'm the commissioner of two massive, very active leagues and this is going to make things so much worse. Please bring back the message boards.

Can't even find this new chat. Let's hear it for progress!

We really needed this to discuss rule changes/trades etc.

Here's my feedback: DON'T TAKE IT AWAY and please reinstate it for the 2023 season. It's not perfect, but it works. I've used it quite well to work trades with other owners directly. My goodness. Why not keep it available while testing out other options? Don't just take it away. Here's where we'll get to find out if you really listen to your users and care what we think.

In some leagues I play Message Boards are just interesting banter and league business, in some it is an intergal part of the league with trades, recruiting, beefs compliments all depending on them. A few mostly public leagues are unused and useless.
I just tried to use the system Yahoo now forces us to use and with many leagues to monitor I was finding correspondence from 4 yrs. ago before I found something current. It's unnavigable confusing and will not be used by me. I will ignore that blue box in the corner as I did before. I would say 5-6 of my leagues are debating where to play next yr if this is the way it's to be. Promises of bettering the forced system fall lame and seem as a carrot. If its going to be better when finished, Yahoo should have waited until it was done. I was considering cutting down on my Yahoo leagues anyway because of you outdated PreDraft Ranking system but that's another post.
