[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

They are doing it for one reason and one reason only they’re gonna start charging fees like if you wanted the message boards back plus they took away our career season/stats for each player etc…..it’s coming!!!!greedy

This is a terrible idea, especially for those who still use a desktop, such as the fantasy baseball demographic. I for one will be looking to move my league to a different site in the future if the message board is not re-implemented.

Sorry Yahoo, but this is a foolish move for our league. I cannot understand why you did this. The league depends on communication. Chat is NOT the answer. If you're working on something "better" perhaps you could have had this as a replacement BEFORE removing the boards. What were you thinking?

Not everyone uses the chat feature, plus it is a much more cumbersome tool to look back at prior messages. We also use the message board for offline slow drafting of prospects. Removing this critical tool without a reasonable replacement means either the league is going to fold or we will have to move off to a different site. Why would yahoo remove such a basic feature? It will only lead to losing people to other platforms.

The message board was a critical tool to present League information in a “one stop shop” kind of thing. If the proposed “chat” can be sectioned off into specific topics and also remain without expiration then our league can maintain the standards it has had for over a decade. Honestly don’t understand why the message board would be a casualty of getting a “chat” as the league members aren’t constantly online discussing issues in real time. Really frustrated as I can’t post important dates unless I keep doing commish notes which are really only used for rules clarification.

Where do I find this new Fantasy Chat? I'm not seeing it anywhere on the league site. Removing the message board is already a problem for myself and the other players. In running a private keeper league, we have always used the message board extensively!

We always use the message board to post who are keepers are going to be for the upcoming season, as well as to post who is not eligible to be kept. These are important communications to have available to look back on in subsequent seasons, so moving away from the message boards seems like a solution in need of a problem. Using the chat for these functions is not efficient and no one uses their e-mail, so that does not help to offset the functionality/utility of having the message boards. Removing the message boards appears to be a very unusual move, at least from an outside perspective. It makes us more likely to consider using another fantasy sports provider.

The Message Board was highly utilized and critical to the operation of our league. Why get rid of it and make things more difficult. I have no idea what Fantasy Chat is and at my age don't need things to become any more complicated. Please, please, please bring back Message Board!!!

I honestly don't even know how to access Fantasy Chat on desktop. I see it on the app, but NOBODY uses it! The Message Board was an awesome way to send updates to league, and I liked doing fun little breakdown articles for playoff matchups and mid-season reviews, etc for the guys in my league. I would ask Yahoo to reconsider this decision, otherwise you'll just have to put your tail between your legs and bring it back next season. I've been very defensive of Yahoo over the years while everyone else trashes your platform, but this type of decision makes me think the rest of the world is onto something.

Bad idea. We use the message board for critical discussions regarding rule changes and quite a bit other critical league activity. To axe the message board without having the chat upgrades in place is quite par for the course here at Yahoo -- this is the period of the year when critical discussions need to be taking place in a format that doesn't require 10 hours of scrolling on a buggy chat app to find the relevant information. I'm open to the idea that the chat pinning/threading will be a happy solution, but it is an active PITA for us right now to have neither message boards NOR a reasonable chat replacement for them available for us yet.

on the PC the Fantasy chat is located on the bottom right with an icon that only says chat if you roll over it. But it appears it only works for private leagues and not public leagues.
Looks like Yahoo does not care and should just turn out the lights, the party over for yahoo. RIP. Thanks for those about the new fantasy league site. it seems they care about us

I run a few keeper leagues, and the ONLY way to communicate with everybody is by the message board. Sending an email works as long as everybody reads them, but then replies are often sent just to the originator, and not to everybody, so immediately communication starts to break down. If I knew why you suddenly decided to cut off the message board, maybe I could sympathize, but since I see no reason, I can only assume you're happy to see me and all the other keeper leagues I'm involved with move away from Yahoo! so we Commissioners can maintain communication and control. Sad - we've been using Yahoo! for a very long time. So, as others have asked, where is this chat option?

Where even is Fantasy Chat? This is a horrible update. Message boards are pretty key to engagement and communication.

The stupidity of this action is massive. How are we to communicate for in league transactions and ask questions. It must be nice to make an already ****** system even worse. Why would you not actually ask those who use the platform before you make a ****** decision like this.

Just a dumb idea. -

This is a terrible idea. I play fantasy hockey, football and baseball in numerous leagues and the message boards are heavily retired upon.
