[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Chat and one message aren't enough, the message board was a vital way of keeping a record without having to scroll through all the chat messages, especially since draft chat shows up in there as well

To quote Strother Martin in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, "Morons, I've got morons on my team".
Moronic decision Yahoo. Just bring back message boards already. We'll forgive you. -

It seems like Yahoo's actions are aimed at private leagues, not public ones. I've been in many public leagues, and we rarely use the boards. This looks like a way to get rid of private leagues and force everything public, whatever their reasoning might be. It's a bummer for private and legacy/keeper leagues, but if Yahoo wants to disband them, a graduated approach might be their way of making it look better and not as much of a shock to players. Here's hoping they reverse course on their decision-

I am/have been a part of many fantasy leagues through all sports and ALL of them use and rely on the message boards for an assortment of things! The chat is basically unusable for the majority of people I know, and even if it is greatly improved I don't think many people will be interested in switching over to it! Bring back message boards please!

Nothing but complaints and pleas to please bring back the MB are still being posted and Yahoo!'s not responded or reversed their decision.? Yikes. Insult to injury, y'all. Fantasy players are clearly not a valued part of Yahoo's assets.

24 seasons with the message board - its a critical function of EVERY league. make your app worthwhile before you remove message board. ridiculous.

I am very disappointed that message boards are no longer available. We used that forum to talk general admin, trades, smack talk, all of the fun things about fantasy. It was all in one place on the platform. Many of us don't check these email accounts or chats. This was one stop shopping fantasy baseball fun. I would ask that you reconsider bringing those message boards back. it is a huge loss, and quite honestly a reason to look for fantasy elsewhere

My Keeper League has been going longer than Yadier Molina and Albert Pujols had careers in MLB. Getting rid of the message boards basically cripples my communication options since only 7 of the 12 managers use the chat option as they find it atrocious. We set Draft day, post keepers (so I can import them as early as possible), and potential rule changes for voting not to count trades in the offseason. I really don't know if we will be able to continue without the message boards.

Please do not remove message boards. I use it and have been since before YOU were working for Yahoo!
Please look at my account - Klex604
Please put message boards back.
Thank you, 25+ year Yahoo! Vet -

This is not good and doesn't make sense. The Message Boards are nice because they come to your email and you can read them or check them on the league site when you have time. I do not have time all day and night to be checking a chat feature that is not easy to find or use with no notifications. Please keep the message boards up, it is the best way to communicate with the league.

This is incredibly dumb

Why would you do this? Makes zero sense at all and is a vital way to communicate. We will be looking for an alternate league after this season.

This might be easily the worst decision you guys have ever made. I would love to hear whoever proposed explain how it fundamentally makes any level of sense for your user base.
As the commissioner of multiple leagues, there isn't a better way to convey proposed rules changes, draft order, and get other information out to the league than the message boards.
If this stands, I will be recommending to all my leagues that we find another platform to use for future seasons.

The removal of message boards is asinine. Yahoo Fantasy has consistently moved to improve the user UI and experience up to this point; why the sudden change of tact to head down a road of limiting the utility of your product vs. the competition?
-
Will Andreycak commented
Why? It severely inhibits our ability to track trades and the first year player draft and we've had to use several external products to compensate. Likely exploring other options for next year. Why not just leave it?
