[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Yahoo math.... this issue has 1007 comments and is ranked 6th. The number 1 issue has 266 comments. Sounds like someone doesn't care about our feedback.

I guess Yahoo also got rid of any way to check grammar. Fantrax FTW.

Message boards are vital to communication in my league. Not everyone has the time to sit and engage in chat, and most on not extremely online people. Being able to drop a message that goes to their e-mail and they can then review is the only we we communicate league-wide. Most still access the site from the internet. Many don't bother with the app. Taking away the message boards is a colossal own-goal and greatly decreases the value and utility of Yahoo as a fantasy platform. Add in whatever you like. But don't take away the things that have made the site useful for all types of players.

My baseball and football leagues never used the chat. We used the message boards for smack talk, discussing trades, and discussing league rule changes, kind of like how you are eliciting feedback on this change (except we discussed before the change rather than springing it on the league with no notice). As commissioner, I always relied on the message board from last season to ensure I had updated the rules for the new season.
Most importantly, we stagger keeper deadlines, and since I can't do this through Yahoo rules, we used the message board to report keepers. I had to scramble to find a new solution (Google Sheets) but it hasn't worked well.
I don't want to use the Yahoo chat, nor do my league mates - some of them don't even have the app.

Message boards were absolutely crucial to league communications. Not a single person used the fantasy chat, and most don't even know what it is as they utilize the desktop functions over the app. Removing message boards is a really poor move.

Never underestimate Yahoo being able to ***** up a perfectly good system.
Why mess with the message boards? why?

Eliminating message boards makes no sense I along with many others have been using this for many years. It is the staple of the leagues that I am in.

It's unbelievable that they're gathering feedback in literally the same exact way that league managers do/did with message boards ...
The hypocrisy of this situation is maddening.

Hey jpaine (Admin, Yahoo), why are you guys collecting feedback through these means?
Why not tuck this feedback section away in the app too?
Or better yet, as you've suggested for league communication, why not just collect this feedback through your personal email account?
Right, because that makes sense.

We use the message board for pre-season rule discussions especially now that we have expanded our league. Our league members range in age from 30 to 72 with the average age being 50. They do not read emails on a regular basis, but they did read the posts on the message board and responded. In addition I do not see a chat we can use at this time. We have had a league for 17 years and absolutely depend on the posted messages. During the season we would discuss trades, rules infractions, commissioner intervention when necessary. It was also a place for us to poke fun and congratulate each other on victories. Please return the Message boards.

Hey, these MLB leagues have been on Yahoo for 25 years and need the message bOard to discuss trades, rules and other league matters. The league's president says he can't do this season without the message bard. Why are you not allowing message boards? This will NOT steer people to your paid leagues, in fact I WILL BOYCOTT ANY YAHOO DFS as a result.

What problem does eliminating the message boards solve?
As shown by these comments, getting rid of the messages boards negatively impacts yahoo users.
How about you change course based on this feedback?

Message board is more useful for certain communications...how about...have the chat available on the league webpage...then one can use the same communication methods (vs 2) by using the APP or the webpage...that would be best!

In what world do you think removing the message boards is something the people want? What was the rationale behind this? HORRIBLE DECISION. BRING THE BOARDS BACK!

Message boards were essential to our league for announcements, and our minor league rosters. Will look into a different system or service.

Yahoo just announced they are laying off 20% of their people, with decisions such as this, I expect those numbers will continue to rise. It's now obvious that Yahoo does not care what their customers want.

It's hard enough to communicate with the managers in my league without the message board. It is vital. No one responds to emails and hardly anyone knows about the chat. Bring message boards back.

I will be checking into ESPN and other sites that offer fantasy games. You have ruined the ability to communicate among league members.
