[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Message Boards are CRITICAL. Literally, this change will obliterate the Yahoo Fantasy user-base. Those who made this change have to realize that - I wonder if it has something to do with the Yahoo layoffs - like, it's a vindictive move by unhappy Yahoo employees (or soon-to-be ex-employees), perpetrated to intentionally push people away from Yahoo.

Who's brilliant idea was this? The message board was the best way to communicate on a league wide scale. Plus, the messages stayed there all year long, if someone wanted to reread something. This is not an improvement, it's a digression. Reading the comments that have been left, I hope you are too as it seems to be 100 % against. Change it back, and fire the clown who suggested this, and fire the rest for agreeing to it.

Why would you remove the best way for the entire league to communicate collectively? Message boards was the best way for me to communicate across my entire league of people I didn’t know that has been running now for 5 years. I don’t have a way now to message everyone at once and take in valuable responses.
Just re-instate it.

it is absolutely discusting that you have removed the message board. That is where the fun is, communicating amungst the teams. You are travelling backwards and if you think this is a up-date, you are grievesly mistaken. I ask you....why the change??????.....makes no sense at all.
Thank You

Terrible change. The Message board is a very important part of communication in the league on high level issues. It needs to be brought back.

Why would you remove the most basic way of communicating. League rules and important information can be posted and easily viewed/reviewed with this. Not happy if this is removed, we may look for a new site.

Why would you remove the message board? This is a very dumb change!

We used this as a message board - just as the name suggests. We would vote on and discuss league issues on easy-to-find, documented threads.

So where is this chat board? How am I supposed to have each team post their keepers for our dynasty league without a common location for discussions? Why does Yahoo have to make things difficult? Was the message board so difficult to maintain?

CBS does weekly recaps that are tailored to each league. It’s a very cool conception that yahoo obviously doesn’t do. So I take the time every week to do it myself and post it to the board. Along with rules, in season reminders etc. the chat function is awful and it’s asinine to think people should have to scroll alllllllll the way back to a March rule post in the middle of July which is what you’re expecting of managers. It’s the most simple thing that didn’t need to be changed but yahoo always has to let people down. If we were losing this for something else, a new idea or something like that, I’d be more open to it. There’s no 3 team trade function (even a start up site like Sleepr can figure this one out), the app constantly crashes or underperforms. It’s a joke. You people do nothing to advance or better our experience.

I communicated solely through posts...

Message Boards are critical to log league information, deadlines, etc. This is a big step back for Yahoo leagues versus competitors.

Nothing of substance (i.e. draft review articles, mock draft articles, summary of the league to-date, etc.) can be conveyed in a chat. This is very disappointing and Yahoo should strongly reconsider its decision before a substantial number of its users switch to alternative platforms.

a chat box does NOTHING in terms of helping people in different time zones attempting to discuss specific topics .. it's that simple .. this just makes things 3 times more difficult to communicate and you WILL eventually have to eliminate your "Chat Box" for lack of use .. an economically bad move to invest in that which will not sell .. fantasy leagues are not dating sites or chat apps and therefore any information you may have gathered about PC usage to cause you to think this move is OK is irresponsibly incorrect .. should Yahoo insist upon this method expect a heavy loss of customers in sign-ups when Football starts

Our league depends on the message boards. My other leagues depend on the message boards. Bring them back!

You guys are a joke! People have been ripping you, and appropriately so, for getting rid of the Message Boards, for nearly a month, and yet you don't make the change back, let alone even communicating to us that you might be changing back to having the Boards. Pathetic.

sooo, where is this chat while we try to set up our leagues??? Just put the message boards back. Good grief.

Bring Back Message Boards! Terrible idea, message board is the best means for league communication.

You guys have to be stupid mother ******* by this point. Been trying to wait to see if you would rectify your massive ***** up, but seems like you intend to ***** over your loyal customers instead. Thanks for driving me to Fantrax when I had no desire to switch. No idea why you’d be striving for alienating your most loyal customers and proponents…so stupid!!

Every step of setting up the league this year is much harder because I don't have a method of reaching my players that they see. Some don't check the email. Others do not even know the chat exists. the Commish note is something you have to dig to see. I can't fathom how anyone would think that doing this without notice was anything other than not caring what your users need, and a self desire to hide a change you knew would get ripped so that people had less time to object. The feedback has been so overwhemingly negative, and the stories about the impacts so dang significant ... it is clear that nobody should be using this service anymore. Seriously: How could anyone think that this type of ambush was anything but foolish, cowardly and misguided? If you don't service your players, they do leave.
