[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

even though there's a ton of people telling you this is a terrible idea there's no way you listen to any of us and bring back message boards bc you people think you know better. there has yet to be anything to improve the user experience for your fantasy games and all you do is keep stripping good things from it. getting closer and closer to moving the leagues i host somewhere else.

This is ridiculous. What a horrible decision. Why wouldn't you poll your customers before you do this? Just one example, is if a bad trade was accepted, the league could easily discuss it on the message board. I have been playing for 20 years and if you continue to make these types of decisions, I'm sure ESPN would welcome me.

You are forcing people away from yahoo fantasy for no good reason. 2 leagues already dissolved for me. Ridiculous !

Why even get feedback anymore? You idiots have been getting lambasted for getting rid of them, yet no change. Stop gas lighting is. You truly don’t give a ****. Bring back the Message Boards.

The message board is a critical feature. In public leagues we use it to start trade chatter. In local leagues we use it to start trade chatter and to talk smack.
I don't even see a chat feature and the email league is cumbersome and dated. What kind of jabroni decided to take this feature away? I'm obviously still here, but this is the kind of tone deaf change that will push me (and it looks like other consumers) to look for alternatives.

absolute rubbish

Message board is critical for our league. We do a slow offline draft were picks are posted on the Board. Also most teams go to the website and not the app.
If chat is on the website, we could work around using that.
Need resolution before we start 2/20/23

No one uses chat. Don't make us go elsewhere

15years on Yahoo this might be the end for us. Restore the message board NOW! We cant run our league through your garbage chat.

This is absolutely one of the worst decisions Yahoo could make - eliminating message boards are CRITICAL to running a league. I have been a player and commissioner using Yahoo for over 13 years and this is like removing one of the wheels from a car and still expecting it to drive. Looks like the leagues I am in will either dissolve or move to Fantrax if this isn't reversed in the next 14 days.

We are probably going to switch to a different fantasy service, as the message board feature was critical to our enjoyment of fantasy baseball. Now I'm trying to find archived message boards going back years. I'm looking at my fantasy profile, but can't find any archived posts. What I really need to be able to do is go to a particular year's league message board, and scan through threads for information we'd like to save. I hope there's a way you can bring that feature back into the UI, at least temporarily, because making this change unannounced has screwed over a whole bunch of longtime leagues.

LEAGUE MESSAGE BOARDS ARE CRITICALLY IMPORTANT TO LEAGUE SUCCESS. WHO'S BRIGHT IDEA WAS THIS?!?! THIS ERROR MUST BE UNDONE IMMEDIATELY. OF ALL THE THINGS TO REMOVE ... UNBELIEVABLE!!!

It should be obvious at this point given the "hundreds" who have complained that Yahoo does not give a hoot about what their customers want. If that does not tell you something about Yahoo then nothing will.

This is a *terrible* idea.
The discussion board is critical to communicating rules, keeper-windows, etc. etc. Absolutely dumbstruck you're doing this.

What is fantasy chat and how do I access it? I didn't even know it existed. This seems like a bad idea.

A message board works much better for posting announcements, weekly/monthly/seasonal stat and achievement updates, etc. than a pinned message on a chat thread. The poorly executed chat function was rarely, if ever, used by my leaguemates since it has become available.
It's especially silly that the note explaining that message boards are going away is only available on the desktop site -- I don't see it at all in the mobile app. Doesn't really instill much confidence that the changes being implemented will be functional.

We've used yahoo for this dynasty league for over a decade and do manual FA bidding - the message boards are used to post the bid results every week and give us a record to track. We also use them to post trades and then vote in the thread on their approval. Without message boards we may very well have to leave for CBS Sportsline or ESPN, which would be a shame. Bring back the boards.
