[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

You guys ****** suck for removing the message board. Guess we'll be going to Sleeper next season.

As a commissioner this is a horrible idea to remove the message boards. Whoever’s idea that was should be fired. There’s no good reason to eliminate them. The message boards are critical to the league’s happenings. So many of my league mates don’t ever check the emails from the league. You guys suck. Bring them back now!!

I've used the message board forever to write our league's weekly recap and preview our matchups for the following week. I don't understand why you would get rid of the message board...it is the backbone of yahoo fantasy sports.
I hope you bring it back this season before it starts.

Also, the commissioner’s note (the only way I can communicate with the league) isn’t visible on the app, which is how the majority of people play since it’s not 2004 (who uses desktops??) You guys are asking for feedback, it’s going to be near unanimous outrage about the change, yet we all know you won’t do a thing about it. Sad watching a former giant in the industry fade to irrelevance

Entering year 20 of playing Yahoo fantasy sports and this one decision might bring my favorite league to an end. I run/play about 10 leagues a year on your platform and this is the biggest inconvenience possible. Our players are scattered all over the country and you’ve removed the one way we can all communicate with each other. If this isn’t fixed, you’re forcing us to leave your platform for good never to return and taking away something all of us have looked forward to every year. What was the upside to this decision? He’ll, I’ll play a small fee to get it back if necessary. Fantasy sports are the *only* reason I use Yahoo at all. Don’t blow this one, guys

Been with Yahoo since '98.
Just bill me for the f'n message board.
Make it an add-on if we upgrade our leagues to premium.

Stupidest decision by Yahoo I've ever seen. You screwed the pooch on this one.

As all of the other people have said, removing the message board is a terrible, terrible idea. Even worse that you don't bother to explain the decision, too. We rarely use Chat and it doesn't have anything close to the same staying power/tackiness of leaguewide messages that need to be sent. We use it enough during the season and is especially necessary for aspects of our league before the season starts. Awful decision.

It seems pretty obvious they're trying to drive people away by intentionally ruining the product. They've taken away all the lifetime stats for players in all sports. Batter vs pitcher and all other stats are gone in baseball. This isn't about message boards. Either they don't have the manpower to run fantasy the way they used to, or they're just phasing out the free game slowly in favor of pay to play, daily fantasy, and sports betting

Need the message board for more formal discussions involving things such as league votes. We also post our own generated ROTO rankings each week in our head to head league (non ROTO) and now don't have a good place to do that. Why does Yahoo always make change where change isn't needed?

This decision to remove the message board was the fantasy equivalent of Elaine Benes telling Lloyd Braun everyone should wear name tags.

Just moved everything to FanTrax. If you aren't going to do something about literally every owner posting to bring the message board back, what's the point of asking for feedback? Sad to go, didn't want to go. We've been here for almost two decades. Each day I use fantrax it gets easier and more familiar though and Yahoo gets further into the rearview mirror. You did this to yourself Yahoo.

We use the message board to announce trades that are pending that are not as clear-cut as player swaps. We include things such as draft picks. We also announce league rules changes, among other things in these messages.

Message boards are critical if you have multiple complex leagues (ie trades, evaluating new potential managers, off season etc). I want a league specific repository of info not blended in with all the other baloney in a stream. Suuuuuuper Annoying.

Very bad idea. I have no idea where to find Fantasy Chat and currently the "email managers" function isn't working. I've tried for 4 days to get information sent to the other 12 managers in my league and I'm the only one the ever get the email (I've verified all managers are selected). A bit disappointed that we'll not be able to communicate issues / questions with other managers inside the league itself.

Hi Yahoo,
I've been running dynasty leagues for the past 12 years and the reason why I chose yahoo was because how simple the format was to use. In my leagues we like to do slow drafts and use the message boards to display each round, so owners can make their picks and have more time to decide on who to pick. There are usually a lot of trades made during the off-season and through the draft and the message boards are used for that as well. Taking away message boards are a bad idea in my opinion because it takes away the ability for owners to communicate to other league members. I understand that we can use the Commish notes but that is only useful for 1 person, what if the other members want to voice their opinion or concerns, they would have to use the email. This day in age owners already get's tons of spam emails sent to their email address, which makes individuals not even want to check their emails consistently unless they have too. Please don't take them away from the owners.

Bring back the message boards. We cannot effectively communicate with our league. What were you thinking? This is absolute garbage. You asked for feedback and everyone is telling you to bring them back asap...so what is the point of feedback?!?!!

Hello Yahoo. Just stopping in to remind you how stupid this decision was. Maybe read a little of the feedback here and respond like a company that would like to stay in business.

No Baseball message board = No men, on Yahoo.
Once we all LEAVE for Fantrax, CBS Sports etc... there's NO reason to use Yahoo. The advertisers will notice the drop in click-thru's and time on pages (which Yahoo uses to SELL them). Eliminating the Message Board in follows, is Yahoo eliminated itself from its own Ad Revenue.
