[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Chat is terrible for league-wide communication. Message boards were perfect for this. What an unforced error by Yahoo. Our league, which is in its 19th season on Yahoo, has voted to change platforms if this is still the case next season.

Case in point, yahoo sends out renewal notices,(over and over!) so i renew. When i noticed no message board , emailed league to see if teams r returning. A few i talked to got email and returned a yes response, which i didn't get.??

When posting messages , this was more useful than emailing the league , because for some reason not all teams got the message that was emailed to them. But message boards, all teams got.

You disabled message boards without giving us another option to start season. Message board very important pre-draft as we decide on any rule changes for the new year, talk players into returning and harass to gain dues payments. This decision is STUPID.

Is there any chance this decision can be reversed? It’s absolutely ridiculous. This is an extremely important feature.

I would like the message boards to return to normal. Thank you. Commish Jen Kad

Problem isn't ONLY that Yahoo is crippling itself, by disabling its Fantasy Baseball features -- but it is also ANGERING 10,000s of MEN of which its advertisers need.

Message board is good for topics of importance & longer posts that everybody should see. When 2-3 guys start chatting about a game theyre watching and posting a comment on every at bat, others are not going to read through all that they just scroll to the bottom. It becomes a habit. Yahoo! has made a terrible choice

don't use message boards much but they do come in handy. A bigger problem is Dalton, Pianow, and Andy posting to dead air with no feedback from managers. Is this Russia?

My guess this is a financial decision. Yahoo is laying off 20% of their workforce.
As a participant in many leagues, I also play their free weekly Yahoo Cup DFS Contests and have noticed that the prizes have decreased recently by a lot.

Why get rid of the Message Board before you’ve finished adding new features to Chat?

My leagues have used Message Boards for everything from checking in for the season to conducting the draft and finding trade partners. The unannounced decision to remove Message Boards with only a vague promise to have better chat features (Which no one in my leagues have used except for to talk smack with) has created a large amount of unnecessary stress and difficulties for getting my long standing leagues back up and running. A month later from this initial announcement and those chat updates STILL are not here. There have been problems with Yahoo Fantasy Sports that I've ignored for years but this is something that shows you don't care about the people actually using your product.

If you're 100% getting rid of message boards, the Commish Notes needs to be viewable in the mobile app. This is such a short sighted adjustment. You could have literally kept an edge on the industry by KEEPING BOTH the chat and the message boards. Pulling the plug on the message boards without pinning being available already as a function in the chat is laughably bad. Trying to fix things that aren't broken. The message boards should be brought back. No reason you can't have both message boards and chat functions.

If you're in private league, I can see where losing the message board function is a bad deal. As someone playing in public leagues, there's always an issue in one of them with people doing stuff they'd get kicked off social media for. Tiresome. That's the only thing that needs fixing really.

Make Message Boards Active for Private Leagues! I've seen Leagues degenerate with political posts, but its not so much an issue when playing with people you know.

We have newsletters and power rankings that we post to the board on a weekly basis. The fact that there is no where to post them is ridiculous. Whole new layout is ridiculous. Can't leave well enough alone.

JFC look at all of these posts--saying the exact same thing I stated and more. Bring the message board back asap

We had a message board for 20 years. This is our 21st season... Come on, what in the world? I was about to send a message via the message board now to find new people for our league and its a no go. Please, bring it back. I see no reason why you would take the message board away...

This was poorly planned to remove it without an alternative. Not everyone uses the app, and chat isn't available on the website - very lazy by Yahoo, and just another reason to switch platforms.
