How can we improve New Mail?

For some reason I now must basically ask for a code to be sent to my phone in order to sign in on my desk top. I HAVE no clue why this start

****-- I cant sign into my desk top email without asking for a code to be sent via email to my phone...Don't have a clue why this started . I had been on the road for 8 days prior to getting home this past monday... HELP needed please...
