BUG in PDF preview, renders text incorrectly
Okay I tripped directly over this one. I was reading a PDF document in the preview pane of Yahoo Mail and it looked like it was riddled with typos. It turns out that this is just a flaw in the PDF preview; when I download the document and view it in Adobe Acrobat it looks just fine, but in preview it is rendered incorrectly.
Specific problem is that "ligatures" are not being displayed -- the letter groups "ti", "ff", and "tt" are all omitted, so "Transportation" became "Transportaon", "better" became "beer" (ha!), and "different" became "dierent".

Will be happy to provide a screenshot, but is there any way besides Twitter? I don't have a Twitter acct, and it would be a real pain in the neck to sign up for one just to help report a bug...
