Fix subscribing to folders with IMAP
Subscribing to folders from Thunderbird with IMAP stopped working about 2 weeks ago. All Yahoo folders are shown and I can't unsubscribe them. Please fix this bug!
Could you please message us on Twitter at @YahooCare or on Facebook at Yahoo Customer Care? We'd like to look more into the issue you're experiencing. In case you do not have a social media account, we are also available at: help.yahoo.com
Looking forward to your reply!
Yahoo Mail team
I just tried calling the Yahoo support line. The representative was very kind and tried to help, but was not able to address this issue. The back-end support team said there was nothing wrong with my Yahoo account; and I should try to contact Microsoft. But the fact that my issue is happening on both Outlook 2010 & Thunderbird, and also that it began a few weeks ago suddenly, without any change on my side I am aware of, to me suggests it's an issue with the way the Yahoo IMAP servers are running.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Ms. Wheeler, have you found a solution to your issue (which I am also having)?
So I just tried using a different mail application- Thunderbird. I have the same issue as I have with Outlook 2010- I cannot unsubscribe from any folders. To me this means it is a Yahoo issue. And they aren't going to help. Great.
I contacted Yahoo via their Facebook support account- no joy. They suggested removing and re-initiating my Outlook profile, which I already did, and didn't help. Then they said the issue was on the email client side (Outlook 2010 I guess), and I should contact Microsoft. The thing is that my email program has not changed, nor have any settings. If I knew it would solve the issue, I would upgrade to a newer version of Outlook; but I don't see how this is an Outlook issue (and I understand others have the issue on Thunderbird, etc.). Too bad.
I'm having the same issue with IMAP and Outlook 2010- until a week or so ago, everything was fine. Now I am automatically subscribed to all folders in my Yahoo mail accounts, including Bulk, which I don't even see in the Yahoo mail web client (Bulk seems to = Junk in one Yahoo mail account; but in another, it has emails I can't find in any folder through the web client). And I can't unsubscribe from any folder!

No social media. help.yahoo.com contact info seems to lead only to paid support. Any other options?
