    No OAuth2 update for Office 2019 for Yahoo or AOL emails yet from Microsoft

    BUT

    both App Password generators are up and running today ,

    so go get a couple of passwords and remember to save them for later use .

    ..................... The absolutely crazy bit is this .........................................

    Windows 10 pro fully updated fresh install of Office 2019

    In Outlook you need an APP PASSWORD to get a fresh email account to work for Yahoo or AOL .

    Gmail works fine via "oAuth 2" ( A sign in Box appears during initial setup of email account in Outlook )

    If you have Windows Mail App , Yahoo manages to go the "oAuth 2" route and brings up the " sign in " box during initial setup of Yahoo email , so no need for an APP PASSWORD , Gmail works the same , however AOL does not and brings up the old IMAP setup and thus needs an APP PASSWORD.

    So if Yahoo can be made to work fine via the Microsoft MAIL APP why doesn't OFFICE/OUTLOOK ?

    Either Yahoo needs to fix their APP PASSWORD generator

    or

    Microsoft needs to update Office/Outlook to do "oAuth 2" with Yahoo and AOL accounts.

    For those that are lucky enough to have an APP PASSWORD and you didn't make a note of it , go here and get "Mail Passview" run it on your old machine and it will give you the APP PASSWORD for Yahoo and AOL , it works fine with Incredimail and Outlook , Win 7 and 10 , I have used it to recover an APP PASSWORD needed for Outlook a few times now.

    I've just purchased a new laptop, and now cant access my Yahoo emails through Outlook.
    So I'm going to have to go back to using my old laptop.

    Utterly ridiculous !!!!

    Agree with all the comments made. It seems as though no one in Yahoo is reading this feedback and if they are they could care less. The problem between Yahoo and Outlook has been ongoing since May 2022 with absolutely zero response from Yahoo as to how or when it will be fixed. Time to cancel Yahoo e-mail and migrate to another platform. Methinks!

    GATHERING FEEDBACK ....................................................................lol.

    I'm wondering how much feedback they need to gather to actually realise that there is an issue and then for somebody to actually action a response that is meaningful .

    Rather than everybody at YAHOO and AOL simply saying it's being worked on and await an effective repair .

    Maybe if it gets to the top 5 ranked it may ( lol ) get some attention , well if you are reading this please , please VOTE it up as CRITICAL , seems to be our only slim chance :)

    I wonder how long it will take for either Microsoft to modify the sign in on Outlook , so its like Gmail , where when you make the new email account in Outlook it brings up a sign in box from Gmail
    , negating the need for an " App Password " ,

    OR

    for Yahoo to get their system up and running again so it gives an " App Password "

    It has been a few months now with BOTH of these players blaming each other BUT nothing is getting fixed !!

    This feature is not functioning for me at this time! I keep getting error messages saying that it's not available right now. If your program is not going to support this option, take it out!

    Generate app password is broken on YAHOO and AOL account page ,

    it has been for months , when you try it says :

    "Sorry this feature is not available at present "

    Why is Yahoo not fixing this ?

    It has been broken since May 2022 !!

    Exactly the same issue with AOL accounts , its exactly the same account page and

    " Generate App Password " button , probably because YAHOO and AOL are now one company .

    Without this I cannot use Microsoft Outlook for either my YAHOO or AOL accounts ,

    I have to use webmail , which is a pain for 4 different email accounts !!
