I don't want two factor authentication. I keep getting "We've noticed some unusual activity. . . " notices so I have to have a code sent to another email to verify I am trying to get in. IF I HAVE TO GO TO MY OTHER EMAIL TO GET IN TO YAHOO, WHY USE YAHOO AT ALL???!

When I sign in to my email I am informed that it is compromised, corrupted, or otherwise has issues. There is nothing wrong with my email but I have to go to my gmail to get a code to get into my yahoo mail. Can we say PAIN? Maybe I should simply stick with gmail.

I think I need to get out of Yahoo completely and then re-install Yahoo again. Can you explain how I can do this, it seems that once Yahoo is installed it is impossible to remove with the aim of re-installing.

I'm not sure why I can't speak to a representative of yahoo so I could explain myself of my issue
Yahoo has sent me a message to change my account to myyahoo, which I have done. Because of my previous issues with trying to sort this out I finished up with an option to change to myyahoo which I have done, but now I have something on my screen asking me to select some themes or such to open a new account my friend has installed for me which I don't want to use, but that seems to be blocking my ability to go any further. -

I have installed david_yelland@myyahoo.com but it isn't connecting because I have tried to change my login details many times in the last few days, and because of my very limited computer skills, have now confused Yahoo, myself, and all the people trying to help me. Is it possible to completely sign out of Yahoo and start again, and if not, can I sign out of yahoo and try go back to Telstra (bigpond). thank you for your anticipated help.

The forced "2-step verification/2-factor authentication" almost just completely screwed me out of getting into my emails as well as my account to pay back my college loans.
I tried to sign in to my Nelnet account to make a payment on my loans, and it forced me to use 2 step verification/2 factor authentication (gonna shorten it to "2FA" from here on). It started by forcing me to receive a text, only I don't have a phone right now (thanks Verizon). I had to update my info so it would send the code to my email.
Then I get to my email and it tells me that there was "suspicious activity on my account" for no reason whatsoever despite having used my email pretty recently, so it forced me to use 2FA. I try to send the code to my backup email and then that email tells me that I need to verify myself and forces me to use 2FA, with my only option being my main email account. They also both gave me the option to use my phone...except, again, I don't have one right now.
So it almost trapped me in a Catch 22 except for the fact that thankfully my Mom's Yahoo account was another backup I could send a code to, and, also thankfully, it didn't keep her out of her account for literally no good reason whatsoever.
My work is already forcing 2FA to get into our emails and that's already causing a massive headache for everyone, now I see that it's being forced in all sorts of other places as well. It's already feeling like it's causing more headaches and harm than it's solving. It's destroying convenience at the very least, and is almost totally screwing us over at its worse moments.
Please give us some options as to whether we even want this or not. Please!

Stop preventing me from getting into my e mails, Control yourselves stop OVER VERIFYING. For goodness sake its getting like trying to break into a vault to open a common e mail. If I want to be controlled or over protected i would ask.

You are now requiring that I verify my log is via my recovery email. This is despite the fact that I have 2 step verification turned OFF.
I have this turned OFF for a reason. I log into my email from various computers (work laptops, libraries) and when I'm not on my main device I NEED SPEEDY ACCESS TO MY EMAILS.
Don't pretend that you're trying to protect my email. You're only covering your own *** so I don't get mad if my email gets hacked. I take full responsibility for the safety of my email. Please give me an option for turning off this extra step by explaining or confirming the "suspicious activity".

We unfortunately do not have the tools to help with account or sign-in issues. Very sorry! This area is only for bugs/suggestions in the product itself. We recommend contacting our Customer Care team at help.yahoo.com. Thanks!
