How can we improve New Mail?

Conversations have an option for most recent email on top

It looks like this was an idea years ago and was supposedly fixed. There isn't an option to see the most recent email on top anymore. It's very difficult to find the part of the email that you are supposed to type in because it's at the bottom a string of emails. Please fix this!
