Editing the Email Subject Line
I am extremely dissatisfied with the removal of a basic email function: the ability to edit the Subject line when forwarding an email while preserving attachments.
This is not a cosmetic UI issue. It is a core workflow issue. For decades, “Forward” has meant: create a new message, keep the original attachments, and allow the user to change the Subject so the message can be accurately labeled for the recipient and for future search and archiving.
In both the new Yahoo Mail interface and the “old”/basic interface, I cannot edit the Subject line on forwarded messages without resorting to clumsy workarounds. That forces me either to send misleading subjects or to rebuild the message and reattach files manually, which is a waste of time and increases the risk of error.
I have ~30 years of important email in this account and rely on clear, accurate subjects for professional record‑keeping and retrieval. By removing this capability, you have made Yahoo Mail actively hostile to serious, long‑term users.
I am asking you to restore an always‑visible, editable Subject field on forwarded messages that keeps all original attachments intact. If this is not addressed, I will treat Yahoo Mail as archival storage only and move my serious email usage to services that still respect fundamental email conventions.
