Eliminate Recurring Spam Emails at Yahoo's Door instead of processing the Spam - Blocking Limit Increase NEEDED
SPAM: It appears through 25+ years of experience in dealing with (paid) Yahoo mail, that emails automatically going to the Spam Folder are NOT STOPPED from going to the same customer in the future. In 2025, I received over 27,000 Spam emails. Already in 2026, I have received over 10,000 Spam emails. Despite the emails going to the Spam Folder, the same Spam emails (with the same email addresses or NO EMAIL ADDRESSES AT ALL (blank addresses) keep coming & keep accumultating in my Spam Folder. Last year, I finally started blocking email addresses & the respective domains. However, with thousands of emails, I have "run out" of blocking ability due to the limit of 500 blocked addresses & 500 blocked domains.
1. Yahoo needs to start blocking repeated Spam emails (already routed to the Spam Folder) from being sent over & over again EVEN WHEN they are going to the Spam Folder BECAUSE legitimate emails are also routed DAILY to the Spam Folder & need to be retrieved DAILY. Thus, the customer needs to review all the Spam emails in order to find the misdirected, legitimate emails.
2. In blocking Spam emails, & with thousands of Spam emails continuing to come in EVERY MONTH (over 110 Spam emails per day right now), the customer easily encounters the 500 blocking limit for both Spam emails addresses as well as blocked domains. Yahoo needs to RAISE THIS 500 LIMIT.
3. The current process is to block all Spam emails since the Yahoo Spam process does NOT permanently STOP recurring Spam emails (same email addresses & same domain names). However, the Spam Folder intercepts the Spam emails PRIOR to the blocking of any emails so the recurring & recurring & recurring Spam emails (same email address & same domain name) continue to reach the Spam Folder & continue to build up in the Spam Folder. Thus, the Spam emails continue to build up in the Spam Folder & the customer HAS TO CONTINUE to go through more & more Spam emails in order to find the legitimate emails, which were misdirected even though the valid emails are already listed in the contacts folder to show that they are valid.
- It would be helpful if Yahoo BLOCKS Spam Folder emails from recurring (once blocked by the customer), but I am told by Yahoo that the Spam Folder intercepts Spam emails PRIOR to the customer's BLOCKED ADDRESSES. Thus, the Spam emails continue to fill up the Spam Folder & the Spam emails continue to accumulate. I still receive Spam emails into the Spam Folder, which were automatically routed to the Spam Folder over three years ago - same Spam email address & same Spam email domain.
- Yahoo needs to increase the blocking limit on Spam email addresses & Spam domain names from 500. As Spam has significantly increased over the decades, it will continue to soar to greater numbers with AI. Yahoo needs to get ahead of the increase. Think of all the processing overhead SAVED to route Spam emails when Yahoo can easily BLOCK THE EMAILS AT THE DOOR to Yahoo's system if they incorporate customer's blocked domains into a working Spam Processing System.
- The customer limit of 500 blocked email addresses & blocked domains needs to be raised in the interim in order for the customer to attempt to manage Spam since the current Yahoo Spam process is NOT STOPPING RECURRING SPAM EMAILS.
I greatly appreciate any Yahoo attention to Spam elimination possible. Yahoo's processing overhead would be significantly reduced with an improved system setup at the DOOR to Yahoo. As Yahoo knows, more AI is coming every day.
