Make the new look optional
The current yahoo look is condensed and highly functional. The new look that I saw a few times previously is suited for mobile users with finger tapping instead of mouse clicking, like big buttons and lots of white space. It makes power users have to click more and scroll more just to get something done that could have been done way easier on the old (current) layout with less clicks/scrolling etc.
