Comments rejected
Still waiting for Yahoo to let me know why you remove my comments when they relate directly to the article and are in no way offensive.

More dishonesty from Yahoo censors. New article today.....comment rejected....appeal rejected on the claim that I've already appealed their censorship on that article.
They're certainly not ashamed of being lazy and dishonest. -

Yahoo allows almost any type of language in their articles and when we use the exact same wording in our comments you reject the comment.

Now Yahoo's dishonest "appeal" is immediately rejected claiming more than one appeal has been made on the story. Hard to do when the story just appeared and you haven't made any previous comment or appeal.
Truly pathetic corporate behavior. -

c b......if you're objecting to mention of sexual orientation or behavior, all references to husbands, wives and children will have to be scrubbed from literature and history. Children wouldn't be able to discuss their families. Ya know? How afraid are you?

c b.......still can't name any beliefs that have to do with being LGBT. Advertising on TV is a reflection of corporate choices. What is taught/discussed in public schools should always be age appropriate!
Parents can always choose a private school or homeschool if they don't like public schools. If they don't like a particular book or movie being used in a classroom, they are typically provided a permission slip prior to the event. What is your objection? Is it acknowledging people's existence? -

Lindley, yes the LGBTQ+beliefs are just like religious beliefs even Scientology is another belief, some believe in gods , some believe in aliens and some believe they were born in the wrong bodies. Whatever your beliefs are they should not be allowed to be advertised in minor children's public schools and tv shows. Im glad to finally see parents getting the courage to stand together against it.

Awful comment rejected today! "What? Graduating from high school?". Wow that sure violates your community standards.
Your censorship is totally without a brain behind it. Since Yahoo says they don't censor on the appeal reject page, obviously dishonesty is one of their community standards. -

Comment just posted and rejected. Appeal rejected. "Woke = being aware of reality. Not an objective of far too many people these days."
How exactly, does this violate any of the community standards Yahoo has posted??? Dishonesty is not an admirable corporate philosophy.

Now Yahoo has come up with a purported "appeal process" for their blanket rejection of comments. The result is "appeal denied/rejected"!! More evidence that Yahoo doesn't want their customers participating on their forum.
The comments rejected contain no profanity, threats or anything else mentioned in their "community standards".

I, too, have had a number of comments inexplicably rejected. My comments, while perhaps being snarky or barbed, contained no profanity, no adult content, no threatening language, no calls to violence, no hate speech (though I have seen plenty that posted), no bullying or harassment (though plenty of that gets past the censors), no personal attacks or name-calling, nothing that violates the guidelines.
Just today, I was commiserating with a fellow poster and noted that Yahoo regularly runs articles where "f-bombs'" are flying (a violation of the guidelines) and "near nude celebrity photos" (ditto) and graphic shooting videos (ditto) are featured (and I forgot to mention celebrities discussing their sex lives (ditto)). Yet we can't even say "h*ll or d*amn". Ironically my self-censored comment was rejected with no reason given.
Another time I lamented that "the taxpayers are being sucked dry" and even that perfectly legitimate non-sexual use of "sucked dry" was apparently too much for them.
I have requested several times a clarification of the guidelines and an explanation of the rejection, but the only responses I have gotten have been generic ...we strive for a family-friendly community... and a link to the guidelines, a reading of which proves there were no violations.
C'mon, Yahoo. Instead of relying on an ill-designed, arbitrary and maddening algorithm, how some actual moderators who can tell the difference between the innocuous and the offensive? I hate spending 5 or 10 minutes crafting a thoughtful, non-guideline-violating comment only to have it rejected out of hand for no apparent reason

Even Facebook has a process to review/appeal/dispute the given reasons that a comment is rejected. Is yahoo so afraid of criticism and owning up to its mistakes that it hides behind its “community guidelines”?
It is bad enough to see your partisan censorship but the auto censorship makes a bad situation even worse.

If Yahoo bothers to respond, please don't claim that you used Facebook or Twitter.

Yahoo clearly approves of hate speech, direct threats and generally nasty comments. Just look at the posts to the article, Scare Factor, Pride whatever cancels drag events. You folks are an unfunny joke.

@c b........Wow! You need a good therapist. Can't name a single "belief" that has to do with being LGBT, but you're sure upset about it. All sorts of ideas/beliefs and populations have been studied in school. It's called social studies! In my experience, classes and curriculum offered are most generally age appropriate. You present off the chart paranoia.

Lindley the LGBTQ+ beliefs are just like all the other crazy human beliefs, religion, Scientology and LGBTQ+ all beliefs. therefore just like all the other beliefs prohibited in minors schools the LGBTQ+beliefs should not be allowed in schools either and should not be advertised online as a news article.

The instant comment delete has nothing to do with objectionable content or any community guidelines. The auto-censor is brainless and the corporate crew doesn't care about customer service.

The message below was rejected due to community guidelines. What is offensive in my message? I was posting an opinion about a lawsuit involving a movie studio.
" The complainant is griping about a 55 year old movie? Has he seen movie and award reviews lately? 😝 "
Unless people know what is offensive they're doomed to repeat the offense. I see nothing offensive here!
