An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedThe amalgamation of three far right parties to the federal PCs in the last 20 years scares me. Its easy to see as you look at the amount of argumentative members and the rhetoric they use with each other, as they try to pick another leader. (how many leaders do they need to go through? The current PC party leader hopefuls are of two factions. This will not get them elected anytime soon.

An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedA guy comes in at comment number 190, and says,,,,,,I'll start...... Yahoo, this is why comments do not belong anywhere near an imported news story. I still don"t think they would get it, but it keeps them from playing in the streets.
An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedYahoo, there is simply no demand by your average reader to restore comments. You have the numbers, the few commenters here in support for commenting, is not compelling enough to allow the hate and mis-information, that they regularly provide. Stay the course, for a happier general public. The public that does not have the time, to read the inane thoughts of the socially unfit.
An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedYou do nor have the right to put your sign, on private property. Yahoo is NOT public property. Your amendments are not being violated, yahoo's is being upheld. A little thought goes a long way.
An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedYahoo is Portal Website. A postal website invites you to visit websites where the original story appeared. Stories that appear on Yahoo, have been printed on other sites first, then Yahoo imports those stories for you to read. Some of these other sites offer commenting and voting on comments. Most will want you to register your email before you can comment.
Paranoia and fear usually do not come with the stories. You supply those yourself.
An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedThe argument over whether to resume comments should be evident in the many responses saying free speech is being violated. Say whatever you want in your own house, I really don't care. This platform is outside your home and I expect you to act as if you are in a public space. Many times this platform was used for racist rants and hate to spread, If you think it is best for your kids (and everyone elses)to read hate propaganda at such a young age, what do you think they will be like in 20. If you have considered that kids will read it, and still want comments back, you are self centered and irresponsible.
An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedBusiness owners rely on people. I do not know a business owner, who refuses customers based on religious or political preferences. I have seen people say anything, including the absurd, to get their own way.
Stay the course yahoo. Their are plenty of news publications that offer the service these people are looking for. They find the links using your portal website.
An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedI think many people are under the impression that every story on Yahoo is written by Yahoo writers. It may be an idea to share with these folks the meaning of a Portal site. Each story has its own bi-line which explains the source of the original story and its author.
If people wish to comment on the story, many of the sources will allow comments on the original site the story came from. Those that want to comment using the Yahoo website simply want the Yahoo audience, which usually is much larger than the original site.
Stay the course yahoo. These people do not care about anyone except their own selfish selves. They will do everything in their power to disrupt, disprove, spread lies and propaganda, under the guise of free speech and what they consider their right.
We the people wish to read the news. We are adults, we can figure out what is b*ll and what's not.
An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedThanks Yahoo for eliminating comments. This comment platform is here for your readers to express their opinions and ideas, yet many still want that big ego soothing audience, dangling from every story. Keep up the good work.
An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedI am so happy that Yahoo has deleted public commenting on stories. An excellent portal site, that continues to be useful. A site that does not need a megaphone dangling underneath every story.

An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedIf readers would follow the source of the story, back to its publication, I wonder if they would find that the headline has not been modified, from its original publisher.

An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedYeah Yahoo, bots are alive and unwelll on un-social media. Stay the course and let the complainers find a sandy beach to scribe their inability to adapt.
An error occurred while saving the comment belly commented@Gary, you are so correct. Do you remember the "unite the right" campaign which started just turn of the last century? A separatist Reform party joined with the federal pcs, as a way to gain more votes, win elections, and govern the country united, It worked and for 8 years Harper did a not so bad job, good as any. A few short years later, the wildrose party was born, another separatist party, This party joined the right as well and wouldn't you know it, another separatist party is formed, and they have just united with the right.
My point is, the separatists are there no matter what happens, and the PC party is becoming more divided within their ranks, because of the amalgamations.
Governments working together is a great thing, only when it works for the good of the country, not half of the country. The libs and ndp are proving that.
An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedMost stories on Yahoo, almost all, are written by employees of other publications, then imported into the Yahoo portal website. If we are all paying attention, we would notice each story has a bi-line and publication data about the original publisher and writer. Some of these other publishers allow comments on the original site the story came from. If you wish to comment, these other sites require you to register then sign in to comment.
Yahoo use to allow commenting on other peoples stories until the lunatics starting misusing it.
Why people think Yahoo has hundreds of writers who write all the stuff on this site is beyond me.

An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedRepeated requests, how childlike do commenters need to be.
An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedKind of a one sided point of view, Obviously the author has no problems with divisive reporting in other publications, as long as it agrees with his own particular brand of divisiveness. Most people could care less and can think for themselves, once offered both sides of the story.
An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedYahoo, please continue with importing the news from huffpost. These stories coupled with the National Post offer the extreme polar opposites of the news. "Can't have a light, without a dark to stick it in"......Arlo Guthrie
An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedHuffpost offers the exact opposite of fox news and national post, to name few. They all have no scruples with their headline etiquette. They still are much better reads then any of the comment section trash writers.

An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedThe comment board was full of haters of just about every kind. Yahoo was very lax in controlling users with multiple identities, and did nothing about the users who spewed political/lifestyle hate on stories from birdwatching to minor hockey, all with the same rhetoric.
To not see it first hand, and not to see the results of it, (Yahoo closing comments) is your typical cancel culture of our current day. People only see what they want to see, facts are optional.

An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedA governing party, in any country, will occupy a larger percentage of the national news. If certain people take politics too personally, of course they will upset themselves, and believe the world is out to get them. Our core similarities so outweigh our differences of opinion.,

An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedOne story may have one piece of misinformation, but the hundreds of comments were filled with dis-information by angry young ducks who cannot think for themselves. Reading comprehension has not been taught in schools for years. These kids tend to think they are the answer, and wonder why others won't listen. Their moms did.

An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedPlease Yahoo, do not reinstate article commenting. Its too easy for these people to spread hate and disinformation. These people need to visit their neighbors more, and leave the soap box at home. Then again, these people are probably socially unfit, and un-social media is the only place left that will tolerate them..

An error occurred while saving the comment belly commented@Robert.....These are ads, paid by the products and services in the ad. Before you click on the story, check the bi-line. A small "AD" will be visible, indicating it is mot a story. These advertisers have no scruples in headline etiquette when it comes to enticing people to click.

An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedThe feedback board has been available for 20 years. Specific problems addressed to specific audiences. It beats the circus the comment boards turned out to be. Just check the other insignificant sites that allow comments, just a bunch of angry young clowns who fret over one of the best standards of living in the world.

When people learn that hate speeches is not freedom, When people learn that creating 100s of identities then using those identities to manipulate voting and conversations, I will welcome them back.

Trump probably went golfing.
An error occurred while saving the comment belly commentedThere will come a time in the near future, where the Americans with this point of view, will be ashamed at what they did to a once great country. Accusations without proof, is a bad thing we learned as a children. Now watch what price you pay, when you don't learn simple things as kids.
