Seriously, this has been floated since 2015 and ... crickets.

Add filters to exclude, include only:
    - DL
    - NA
    - Players whose teams are NOT PLAYING TODAY (filter out)
    - Minimum number of ABs, IP, GS

Those would be a great start.

If you cannot export data due to licensing agreements ... then how about just being able to export your leagues rosters and player availability ... which you could then import into any number of data instruments, include excel. Some engines ("My Playbook") for example can read, with permission, your league. This would pretty much be just an extension of that.

This is very true. And even if you can search using a min of three letters, there are players with accented vowels in the first three letters.

Many algorithms for stats-rankings need individual tweaking - to weight the various stats by how they may be interconnected.

If they were to apply just a flat, unweighted ranking system (which is far less problematic) for any customizable set of stats - I could live with knowing that the rankings may be off - in some cases perhaps *way off* due to a flat-scoring-ranking system.

In fact, I'm really surprised that that clearly is *not* the case. Pretty disappointing.

I know that leagues are free. I appreciate that I can devote *so* much enjoyment time through Yahoo without it costing me a nickle (at least not from them) - so I don't like getting too righteous about unresponsiveness.

But I do confess that the unresponsiveness is profoundly disappointing and that Yahoo does make me nuts with some seemingly arbitrary changes - particularly when they "fix" something that was working well.

@ RC - it's kinda surprising that nobody even vaguely gets your pretty obvious point. You don't need the filter to determine "all players available to be rostered in this spot", you need to differentiate between classes of players available for a single category spot but who, effectively, "play a different position" by generating position specific statistics - like Saves and Holds. Just like wanting to be able to filter to see only starting pitchers to evaluate Quality Starts.

It is uselessly unhelpful to have to sift through dozens and dozens for relievers when you have no interest in them for that search.

It will never be a perfect filter as players do cross the definition boundaries, but I totally get where you are at. Sure - you can use any "Pitcher" in a "P" spot, but it's a virtually useless tool.

There is no analogous argument for hitters since no statistic is particular to one sole position or sub-position.

If a regular scoring stat was, say, "Passed Balls" and the only filter for batters was "Batters", it'd be roughly the same thing. Not quite, but close - and almost as frustrating.
