[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

I had my league set for 20 teams, knowing I would get less. for some reason it stopped at 12 and I have another person wanting to get in, how do I change it to 14 managers?

Im not sure why you you removed this feature. The message board was very important for our league, we have expanded minor league rosters (yahoo only allows for 10 N/A Spots) that we organize with a google doc. but the transactions log was on the message board. We need the message board to make minor league roster transactions.
Also we posted all official trades in a separate message board to have a record of that also.
We also used it as a sort of trade block. -

Please add back the message board. This is how we keep a record of thing going on in the year. There is crucial info that is need to post and communicate as a point of reference. Please add it back.
Appreciate you

I like how in team settings there is still the option to turn on or off: "NOTIFY ME OF FANTASY BASEBALL MESSAGE BOARD POSTS VIA EMAIL?"
Oh wait...

this was the dumbest decision you made. bring them back immediately

Horrible move. Our leagues use message boards for everything- from draft information, to previews to weekly recaps to money issues, etc. Replacing it with nothing is garbage and something I would expect from ESPN fantasy but not Yahoo. You have always held yourself to a higher standard Yahoo- don't stop now by eliminating a key feature in our fantasy enjoyment.

We use these to keep track of our minor system and all of those moves. As of now the way we run our ball leagues you have taken away a valuable tool and replaced it with nothing. So we are moving on to a system that will work for us. This was a terrible decision.

I'm not sure the benefit of removing the message boards, but I do see several negative impacts. I'm hoping Yahoo is at least saving some money by doing this, otherwise I literally can see no reason how removing this feature makes the user experience better. We already had fantasy chat, but that forces us to use our mobile devices. Not everyone engages with fantasy via a cell phone. Also, the fantasy chat is a rolling thread, sure you can pin stuff once that feature is added, but that's an annoying process. How am I going to keep track of keepers, weekly prizes, etc. if there is not a static source of info like a message board? Its making my job as commish significantly harder.

Almost my entire league uses a laptop/desktop to play and the chat feature is non-existent for them. No one is seeing my "chat" messages asking for payments, etc. except for two people. After more than 20 years on Yahoo, this isn't sustainable for us if the message boards do not come back.

Nobody seems to read it anyways!

Just a question, is there a character limit in the chat system. I used the message boards to post a weekly recap that would get pretty lengthy and I am curious to know if that will be affected. The league looks forward to the recaps. Thank you.

Please bring back the message boards. The Chat feature in the app is confusing, complicated, and impossible to find, and no one, in my league at least, plays on the App. We relied on the message board and not having it makes communication with the commissioner and other players a much more difficult task. Judging by the other messages I am seeing, we are not the only ones that used the message boards extensively. What was so bad about those that Yahoo felt the need to get rid of them?

Can we have the message board back or some way to communicate via the league site.

Who came up with this decision and how in any way was this a good idea?

Used the message board a LOT. Sucks not having it.
May be time to go to ESPN. -

message boards were bad, but at least you could access it from the app. YAHOO needs a chat format that can be simultaneously used through desktop/laptop and the fantasy sports app. There are managers that do not ever see the chats, because they're exclusively on a laptop. That makes it impossible to run a public league with confidence.

Post on this thread too ^^^
Let's push multiple threads about this to the Top 10.
The title of this thread is merely "Removal Feedback"
Getting the title of the thread linked above ("Bring Back Message Boards") into the Top 10 sends a stronger message that Yahoo has intentionally screwed over its users

Removing the message board just made navigating a yahoo fantasy league so hard. What in the world were you thinking?
