Needed now for critical communications to set up and start leagues for 2023. Been a user for 20 years.

    It is unacceptable to consider yourself a legitimate fantasy league host and not have a message board. It is the most basic "feature" to have on any website that connects people. Imagine if police dispatch used emails instead of radios.

    We used the message board daily. It certainly has taken a a lot of fun out of our league.

    Not that it matters, but just an FYI: the message boards are gone because the contract with the boards provider ended and they neither renewed nor found a successor. According to Yahoo support, it's also unlikely that they're coming back.

    Please also add minors positions in Yahoo … my Commish has moved his leagues to Fantrax due to the message boards being removed with the idea that he could move back for next year, but now he is loving the minors spots on the roster and doesn’t need to keep posting it so he’s thinking about not moving back … please add either the minors spot OR make the NA spots have no restrictions so we can put whoever we want on them whether they are designated NA or not … then the Commissioners for each league can police them as they see fit 👍👍

    The loss of message board is devastating to a well run private league. I'm very perplexed as to WHY Yahoo did NOT state the reasons behind abolishing the message board?

    It is insane to replace the league message board with chat. Chat has too much other garbage present so it is difficult to put together a conversation. And with the message board you have a permanent & well organized history of league conversations. I can't imagine using chat to find the league discussion of prior years once that history is accumulated. Chat is too cumbersome and there are too many options to choose from when you have chat for every league you have played in. Please restore the league message board.

    You have lost your mind taking the chat board off. I can not think how removing the message board from the people that played on Yahoo for over twenty years sounds like the snowflake's at Yahoo need a grip.

    We use the message boards in every league in yahoo for almost 20 years. We like to track our history and our side action on the message boards so it is there for us to reference ALL season long, in one separate central location. No message boards would be a real problem for our league - please don't only give us chat as an option. It is untenable for us to use and is not a equal replacement for message boards.

    Judging by the feedback I am seeing, I am not the only one negatively impacted by the removal of the message boards. What was so bad about it that Yahoo felt the need to do away with it? Removing the message boards does NOT improve the player experience, the App chat feature is terrible and makes communicating that way a difficult task, to say the least. Most, if not all, the players in our league do not use the App to play. It is very cluttered and everyday functions are difficult to find. We still enjoy and use the desktop/laptop version of the Yahoo Fantasy game and the Message boards are crucial to our communication. Please bring that feature back and leave it alone.

    The App is very poor, so I continue to use my laptop. No chat function on the desktop version has made it almost impossible for us to communicate. The chat feature on the phone is fair at best. Yahoo/AOL broke something that was working,

    I'm getting more and more frustrated about the loss of the message boards. Yahoo promised several enhancements to the FantasyChat so that it could function as the new message board, but as far as I can tell, none of those enhancements have been provided. In fact, I can't even figure out how to use the chat at all in several leagues. We are now post-draft and cannot communicate with my mates as a group other than the "e-mail league" tool (which does not work as a discussion thread as you cannot 'reply all' to these emails).

    Will the FantasyChat ever become usable? Is Yahoo Fantasy actively trying to reduce its marketshare? Just to function as an adequate replacement, at minimum we need:

    1) Embed the chat on the league page (NOT a popup).
    2) Enlarge the chat to be about 6 times larger on screen (so posts can be easily read and scrolled through).
    3) Add threads so each subject can be discussed separately.
    4) Remove the transaction log from the chat entirely (it already exists in its own log).
    5) Add Rich Text editor (or equivalent) so posts can actually be well-formatted and easily read.
    6) Timestamp all posts.
    7) Archive each season's chat on the league page (not continue the chats from season to season).
    8) Add and option for email alerts to new chats.

    Our dynasty league of 14 years NEEDS the message board to survive.
    PLEASE BRING THEM BACK FOR THIS SEASON.

    I can see no logical reason for deleting our league's message boards. We used it extensively, especially at the start of the season. I read through many of the messages below and I have yet to find one that likes this change.

    I've been a commissioner on Yahoo for 22 years now, but will be exploring other sites that are more user friendly.

    Oh, and I want my money back on that Yahoo Fantasy Plus membership.

    Killing message boards without an operational chat is incredibly stupid.

    How do you expect leagues to communicate right now in anticipation of the upcoming season?

    This decision to remove message boards is completely incomprehensible. How could you shut down message boards before launching an upgraded chat site?

    You have successfully united the fantasy community AGAINST YOU! EVERYBODY IS COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS.

    The decision should clearly be reversed. But I know that it won't be.
    You should not be short-sighted for the next seasons in other sports.
    We are not all immature 17 year-olds who are incapable of doing something harder than scrolling.
    Some of us can actually put several paragraphs togther.
    The fantasy community is full of people who are interested in doing complicated things and we do not all fit into one tidy box and do things only one way.

    I am in multiple leagues, including keeper leagues which have detailed rules.
    We used message boards to:
    1) get confirmations as to which members are returning to the league and everybody would easily see which members were returning and which ones weren't.
    2) post our detailed rules (as the Commissioner's note is not practical).
    3) have rule-change discussions for the future
    4) as an FAQ (and not answer the same question multiple times)
    5) people advertized available leagues in several sports
    6) as a reference site for other issues

    As the commissioner of many leagues, I am EXTREMLY frustrated at how difficult communication has been this year. Roughly 75% of users have no clue where to find the Chat link or are completely uninterested in it. Sending e-mails doesn't work because they do not stand out and are ignored (and often go to Spam folders).

    I am convinced leagues will have record numbers of teams not even show up for drafts and be managerless from Day 1 of the season.

    Some leagues have moved to Fantrax which has a far superior product to Yahoo Fantasy.
    Some leagues have been abandoned (as people are sick and tired of being disappointed by Yahoo) and just join new leagues on other platforms.

    Many leagues are NOT waiting for an unknown upgrade to come to Yahoo chat. We are using third party apps (such as Discord, Signal, GroupMe, Slack etc). Frankly too many leagues use too many different apps but everyone wants something better. We want to do more than post Gifs.

    What you really should have done was implement a streamlined way for managers to click on a button to confirm their intention/interest to return to a league. Perhaps even have an easy way of communicating whether they would prefer a week-day or week-end draft and whether mornings, afternoon, evening, or late-night drafts are best.

    Your Private league listings should have many MORE filters. One should be able to look more easily for leagues with certain ranges of sizes, categories or other important settings.

    The real problem is that Fantasy Sports is not profitable enough for Yahoo/AOL. So programmers will generate a greater return on investment by working on other areas. That's why, your product is stagnant and you are not making any upgrades under the hood. As consumers, we are better served by specialized websites which can focus on our needs as consumers.

    Good luck keeping your customer base.

    My fantasy baseball group has been doing this for 25ish years. We went to Yahoo early on as we preferred the message boards to the group email chain. Now that we're all middle aged and occupied with careers and family, the message board is the primary reason we still have our league. We are now considering whether check out ESPN (which is in every other way an inferior product) or just disbanding the league.

    I still have not seen a clear and concise reason as to why the Message Boards were removed.

    This is a giant leap backward, and has me seriously considering jumping ship to another Fantasy platform. I do not doubt that this ridiculous decision will carry over later this year into the fall sports (Football, Basketball).

    Yahoo has severely hampered Managers' and most importantly, Commissioners' ability to quickly communicate with each other.
