[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Message Boards are one of the key features of a fantasy league...who the heck made this bonehead decision? This is used to share rules - updates - and smack talk...the only reason people do fantasy!

So much easier to communicate among league members through the message board. Why would this convenient feature be taken away that is nothing but beneficial to league members? Is there some kind of minority of JO's abusing this feature that it's become a problem? Ban them or suspend them. If this is a money issue then I would consider going elsewhere for paid fantasy leagues.

Eliminate the "Chat" to save $...not the message board.

Don Lehman commented
Please bring them back, no one in my league can figure out where chat is or how to use it.

Yahoo must bring back the message board asap. There is silence in the league and lack of communication without it. This was a very important feature. This league is dead without it. Bring it back or I will be forced to move this league for next season.

Another day with no message boards and another day of silence from Yahoo/AOL.

We used the message board to log all of our in-season trades by detailing who was traded AND the future auction dollars that was associated with the trade. This second part was critical in going back after the season ended in order to reconcile the draft day starting budgets.

Getting rid of the message boards is such a bad idea. This was crucial in every league I'm in as far as sharing info, discussing trades/issues/changes to rules, etc. i don't know how our leagues will function well without it since not everyone uses the chat and it's not something that is front and center on your league page, so people do not check it. If the chat would show up as a scroll on your league page, that might work, but then isn't that basically the same thing? so why switch??

HOW DO WE REPORT OBVIOS COLLUSION

I would like to delete some teams from my league, and I'm not able to do this. Some of my Son's friends registered double teams by accident and I can not figure out how to do this. Yahoo won't even allow me to delete the league and start over. There has to be an option to delete these unwanted teams.

Kind of looks like not to many approve of this new idea -- Maybe yahoo should reinstate the message boards

and to end my rant
The only reason I have Yahoo as my homepage is because of my ties with your fantasy sports games.
I'll also be looking for another homepage. Google, probably -

almost 2,500 comments and not one, that I've come across, has been favorable.
Perhaps we users should report this topic.
Next to the admin. name is the report button, use it people!! I already have

what dafuq is this "Jeffrey Allen Maier supported this idea · Mar 19, 2023" I do not support the removal of league chats. I can' wait to see how many leagues Yahoo will lose next year. I've already had two long time leagues dissolve THIS year. Next year I won't be renewing my league, nor playing in any others. Yahoo fantasy baseball is run by idiots!
One more thing, if this happens with your football leagues, I'll be a non participant this year -

I commented on here once, but I will again. I've had two Yahoo fantasy baseball leagues fall apart already due to this. Not enough managers check their e-mail or the chat (because it isn't as user friendly) and commissioners had to kick out people that weren't communicating. I am guessing that the people that were kicked were blaming the commissioner since they didn't know a message board wasn't an option. Regardless, we couldn't fill the open spots and the leagues have just ended. Many of my leagues are with people that don't know each other, so we're not going to form a FB group. Yahoo needs to realize that the chat isn't the solution here. So now I'm looking for new leagues instead of the established ones that I was involved with. If it's not reinstated for fantasy football season, I'll be looking for a new site altogether.

Eliminating the league message boards is a huge inconvenience and disappointment to my entire league. We utilize if for most of our interactions. It is less intrusive than chat in the app (can get to it whenever you want), has a better mechanism for longer form responses, and allows a place we can post things that can easily be referenced at a later date. For instance we have league members who do power rankings in various leagues, statistical analysis rankings, etc, that now have no good place to post them. I realize league email exists, but it is clunky, and hard to find if you're looking back on something. We hope you will reconsider this move, and I would hope if you really value the feedback of your users, you would actually request feedback prior to making such a drastic change like this in the future. We have used yahoo for fantasy sports, including baseball, for around 20 years, and it's disappointing to see it become a less user friendly place, rather than improving. This is a step back, definitively.

The message board was the most utilized service our league to help all managers converse amongst each other. This feature needs to be reinstated. Lack oof communication among fantasy players is key to success for any fantasy league. Need to add it back pronto.

We used this message board for a weekly newsletter. It was an important part of our league. Nobody uses the chat. This is terrible

What is it costing Yahoo to have a message board? When something is being taken away it is because it is either costing too much money or not being utilized. Obviously it's being utilized, as seen by the comments. What's left? Cost. How much is it costing Yahoo to have a message board? Lastly, note the irony here in people leaving messages on a message board about taking away a message board.
