[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

The message boards are where we communicate league wide and allow team owners to review previous threads. Losing message boards could be something to make us consider moving to a new platform to run our league.

Please bring back the message boards. This was our primary means of communication, as not everyone checks their e-mail regularly. Plus, we would discuss future rules changes, general baseball talk, and have had some wonderful conversations in a centralized place.
As a long time member, this is important.
Thanks,
Chris

I have been checking in to 'Message removal feedback" about once/week. STILL LOOKING FOR THE FIRST "GOOD JOB YAHOO" POSTING; HAVE READ 8,642 "BRING BACK THE MESSAGE BOARD" POSTINGS. Clearly Yahoo's strategy is to GET OUT OF THE FANTASY PLATFORM BUSINESS by infuriating 100% of their users. Since that's the case YAHOO, why not just cut to the end game, tell all your users to GO TO H#@$!, and terminate the fantasy service completely? Oh I forgot, NOBODY AT YAHOO IS READING ANY OF THIS FEEDBACK ANYWAY, even though Yahoo "welcomes your feedback". SICK

Post on this thread too ^^^
Let's push multiple threads about this to the Top 10.
The title of this thread is merely "Removal Feedback"
Getting the title of the thread linked above ("Bring Back Message Boards") into the Top 10 sends a stronger message that Yahoo has intentionally screwed over its users

This is annoying. Also, where did the player career stats go? Our league is starting to talk about switching to CBS next year.

Reading through the other messages here it sure seems like deleting the league message board was a HUGE MISTAKE! I’ve been commissioner for 21 years and the message board was how we communicated about when we have our draft, settling a beef, trade disputes, etc.
It’s not too late to bring it back and apologize. I am seriously looking at CBS or or options to host our fantasy league.

What is the Fantasy Chat option?? where is it located??

This seems like a poorly thought out decision. We used the message board to handle all league communication. You can use chat on a mobile device, but not everyone has the app installed and you can't see the chat from a desktop (or at least I can't find it for fantasy baseball). You can email the league, but not everyone uses an email address they actually check for their Yahoo account.
This change has made it very difficult for us to get our league up and running. Yes, the message boards were not great, but removing them without a viable cross-platform messaging solution is foolish.

This is the worst and dumbest idea Yahoo has ever had. You are making league communication infinitely harder and have not even explained why you are doing it. You really better re-think this because you are going to lose a lot of leagues over this.....especially once football season comes around.

I've been running leagues for years as Commish and we use the message boards constantly to communicate, vote, etc etc. I don't know the reasoning behind taking them away completely. It's much more difficult to contact the whole league. Please change it back.

Worst idea ever. Especially since the chat feature is horrible to use. just dumb.

Horrible idea. The worst thing yahoo has done with the fantasy leagues ever. I'm sure most long-time leagues will be considering moves to different platforms.

Message boards were an important part of league communication -- chat is also important, but in the chat function important information gets pushed back as random chat discussions and league transactions occur....message boards insure that important information and discussions are always available to league members.

We need the Yahoo! message board to communicate. This is horrible Yahoo! took this away.
-
Nicholas Parsons commented
Message boards were important for communicating about draft date, league settings, questions, and drama. Are we supposed to email each other instead? This is inefficient and makes me want to switch to CBS Sportsline for fantasy baseball.

Juan Mitchell commented
We NEED the Message board as part of COMMUNICATION.
No one wants to flip back and forth in and out of the app to look at emails to communicate. -

People in the league loved the message board. It brought us all together. Thinking about leaving after this year. Bad decision getting rid of it. Cheers to the clown who made this decision. WRONG again.

Yahoo should bring back the Message Boards. We use them to post information during the season. Please change it back and leave it alone. We want message boards! Thanks.

Yahoo sucks without the message board. What's even worse is that YAHOO HATES YOU. Seriously. They don't care. The responses to their idiotic removal of the message boards has been ZERO. I now have to investigate other options. So bummed.

My fantasy baseball group has been doing this for 25ish years. We went to Yahoo early on as we preferred the message boards to the group email chain. Now that we're all middle aged and occupied with careers and family, the message board is the primary reason we still have our league. We are now considering whether check out ESPN (which is in every other way an inferior product) or just disbanding the league.
