[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Removing the message boards from the Yahoo Fantasy Sports sites reveals just how customer un-friendly Yahoo is. They don’t care about what their customers/users want, it is about what Yahoo wants to shove down our throats because THEY KNOW BEST.

We handled our offline draft via message board up until it disappeared. We also use it to claim free agents with non-standard rules. This change is a real hinderance. We have league members that can't even find the Fantasy Chat.

Well, we handled our offline draft by text message. The message board that has been available for many years until this one suited our preference. It looks like this may be our league's last year with Yahoo, as the general feeling of our group is that we want to move to "a website that actually incorporates the draft and messaging into their platform...jumping around thru various spreadsheets and websites is a pain **********..." Yahoo has served us well over the year. We are confused why Yahoo would remove already-built useful functions. Even the younder, new additions to our league don't like the new system.

We use message board for off line draft. It was perfect because everyone could see who was picked and who's turn it was. Email doesn't work so great. And where is this chat you talk about??

The message board was critical to our league and way better than chat. Bring it back please. Getting rid of it was a major mistake and devolution of your site.

So you’re trying to turn chat into a more complicated message board? What a joke. Bring back the boards and stop asking people to work harder trying to stay connected to their leagues.

Fantasy Chat seems to be available only on mobile. I normally check my team on a laptop, so can't access messages. Several league managers said they sent me trade requests that I never responded to, so they shopped their offers elsewhere. Really, I never saw them because chat doesn't show up on a laptop. If you're committed to sunsetting message boards (I don't see a reason why, but maybe some internal coding issue), then please make sure that Fantasy Chat is available on a laptop and not just on mobile. Currently, my league will have to use email off-platform as the best way to communicate, and that just isn't ideal. Our keeper league has been running on Yahoo since 2005, and this is not a great change for us.

The phone app sucks and there is no chat function on the website. By the way, there is no "notes" function on the app. So I know of at least one person who missed a keeper-assignation deadline.

Stupid for multiple reasons I shouldn't have to take my time to explain to you fargin numpties. Clearly you don't give a rip what we think.

Make chat available for desktop. App doesn't work right for me and I use the desktop site on my phone and computer

My leagues over the years had always used the message boards as a primary means of communication. Your message above references "Fantasy Chat" but no details about it.. What's going on???

This is actually a positive move, in that it gets people like me, and leagues that I've been in, to overcome inertia and move to Fantrax. Yahoo has gotten away with running a substandard format for a long time, and this just helps move any stragglers along to something better.

This is horrible. Leagues should have a built in chat. Getting rid of message boards makes no sense
-
Scott Drain commented
This makes absolutely no sense to me. Message boards are the primary form of communication for managers. Sending "reply all" messages to have an ongoing conversation about draft, keeper rules, trade debates, etc is just cheap by Yahoo, and a great reason to switch fantasy leagues for the upcoming season.
