[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

Never heard of a fantasy service not having a message board. Come on Yahoo

This has to be the dumbest idea to remove the message board.

The message board was extremely helpful (and fun) for our league that has lasted for two decades. A chat function fails to fill that void.
I see no reason to remove the message boards and suggest reinstating this option immediately.

This needs to be added back immediately! We have already had two trades go through that need to be vetoed ASAP. Message boards make it easy to communicate this.

Please put this back. You can make it so the commish can deactivate it...but by just taking it away...you are almost angering every single Yahoo fantasy sports player...and there will be a mass exodus.

Yahoo needs to return the message board. It is critical to league function. Expect many leagues to change to another service if not returned.

The fact that you guys haven't responded speaks volumes about how you don't care what's best for the customers. Once people start leaving this ridiculous site maybe then you will start caring. Unreal

i guess i need to keep commenting until yahoo realizes how stupid it is to remove message board. if its an expense (ie database) issue, delete info from previous seasons except the most recent. this tool is C-R-I-T-C-A-L to running almost every league, especially dynasty and other offline leagues. NOT EVERYONE WANTS TO USE THE APP! fix this issue or i am removing my (3) baseball leagues and going elsewhere! btw.....there is NO WAY this topic is only the "9th" most important. we all know yahoo has many mark sist censors hard at work on the "news" side of the business....we dont need that idiocy with fantasy sports!

While the message boards were not used every day, we did use them in our league for offline drafting, communication and just other league communication. The chat is awful for that because it was nice to be able to get every one's opinion ideas and thoughts on a topic in one central place, instead of searching through all of the chat comments. You've taken something simple and really complicated it.

Not everyone in my leagues use, or even pay much attention, to the message boards. As commissioner, I use the boards to poll the other players, or announce changes. I also use it as my own personal record keeper, where I can revisit past issues and suggested solutions to any concerns. An example; With Covid the past few years, my leagues have more IL slots available. To gauge everyone's opinions, I can go back to previous season's message boards to see what everyone thought. Next year, I won't have that luxury. The connected threads from a particular post will be missed the most. Facebook Messenger isn't very good for that sort of thing. My league's will survive, although I'm in a couple that rely on the message board for offline drafting. It would have been nice to have some advance warning, OR at least have the "new" chat up and running for the start of baseball. I think Yahoo sometimes takes advantage of the fact that it offers the best fantasy experience to ***** with things too much! Thanks!

I am still trying to find a workaround that will work for my league and I'm struggling. I've lost many hours of my time trying to deal with the fallout of this ridiculous ambush of a decision. This was handled so poorly on every angle. PLEASE RESTORE THE MESSAGE BOARDS ASAP.

We used the message boards complete offline drafts, update our league agendas and vote on new rules. We have some older folks in our league who don't use the yahoo app and online communicate via the computer. Removing the message boards completely isolates them. This league has been going for over a decade, and there is a good chance our league folds because of this. A heads up would have been nice at least...

Removing Message board makes offline drafts more difficult. You need to restore or provide a way to draft offline and update through the process. Plus if this is the new thought it'll hamper my leagues I commish on. Plus I have managers that don't use Chat. That'll hurt league posts and input on trades & votes. You really screwed up Fantasy baseball and Removal in other sports is possible you're chasing away participants on long standing Leagues. Removal not appreciated.

Folks, if you agree make sure to click the "Critical" button above with the "How important is this to you?"

Tony Farthing commented
Message boards are very important to our leagues to begin, as we post our keepers on there for everyone to see. It is important as many trade discussions are posted on there. Pre-season rule changes are posted for discussion. Why would you take away the message board? This is vital to information shared within leagues!

If you truly intend to update the chat feature, that should have been done first before eliminating the message boards. You leave us hanging meanwhile. Just really tone deaf when it comes to a realization for what yours users need and want. I mean the chat feature is so poor, it's hard to have any faith that it will become useful for threads polls, etc. Hope I'm wrong. Can only shake my head at this one, it sure creates a lot of unnecessary angst over how to navigate this ridiculousness.

Make sure to vote "How important is this to you?" I think thats the only way to get this ranked higher than 9th on the importance list. By posts alone (100 a day) this should be the top issue not just top 10.
For those looking for the "chat" on desktop/computers there is a small white and blue chat bubble at the bottom right of every league page. I had no idea either and had to ask Yahoo on twitter where the heck it was.

I became a Yahoo member, got a Yahoo email and participate at Yahoo, because of its fantasy sports feature. Without message boards it will be impossible to operate Keeper, Dynasty and Exclusivity leagues. Most if not all of these types of leagues will have to move to another fantasy sports network. With these moves millions will remove their membership and their traffic from Yahoo sites. This was a STUPID decision on behalf of the Yahoo Fantasy Sports team.
