[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

I'm very concerned if you do away with message boards for basketball next season. I use my message board as the commissioner to post weekly league updates on game results, outstanding stats during the previous week - anything to keep the league interesting and the managers active. It's a crucial tool for me to use. Please, please do not do away with the message board. Check out my league (Strategy B-Ball), if you are able, to see how I use the message board.

This is a terrible decision... please read this MESSAGE BOARD and see that not one positive message about this change has been posted.
Please bring back the message board and stop this "change."

We used the league message board to clearly state any keeper trades that happen in the offseason, use as a SUSP list (player gets SUSP, you can drop and claim the player as long as they're posted in the message board) and for any in-season rules or changes that apply.

Well, this is quite simple. Without the message board, it will be very difficult for our league to function as it normally would. Just use chat instead? No thanks. More like I'll just find another site to host our league. Thanks Yahoo! for this unimaginable blunder of the highest level.

Yahoo Management: Dear users, please let us know how we can make future improvements.
User: Bring back the message boards.
Yahoo Management: No really, tell us what would improve your experience here
User: Bring back the message boards.
Yahoo Management: Dear users, please take this survey seriously. What can we do to help make future improvements?
User: Bring back the message boards.
Yahoo Management: Dear user, clearly you don't know what you want or what is best for you. We do. Now please stop kidding around tell us how we can make future improvements.
User: Bring back the message boards.
Yahoo Management talking amongst themselves: Clearly the user doesn't know what they want, let's proceed without their feedback. Hey do you have any New Coke in the fridge? -

The foundation of an active league is the message board. Yahoo is making an odd decision getting rid of them. and where is this chat feature?, on the app, but not the browser version? None of this makes any sense.

After spending more time than it was worth looking, I've yet to see where you can currently access chat on Yahoo Fantasy Baseball on a browser. It may exist on the mobile app, but my experience is that your apps are basically spammy malware, so they only get to stay on my phone a short time when I have to make a transaction on the go. Anyway, you might also want to disable league email, since that's what people are mostly using to move their leagues to other platforms. Just when I thought Yahoo couldn't get worse at fantasy baseball, you proved me wrong.

There are at least two private dynasty leagues I'm in that will have to go away without message boards. One already has moved to Fantrax. Not sure where the other will go. While I'm not a fan of Fantrax, this may be the last straw for me in Yahoo Fantasy. Bye.

My private league depends on the League Message Board. We won’t be using the chat. Also it’s unclear if Commissioner’s Notes are visible when using a smart phone / app instead of a computer. Message Boards should be allowed for private leagues.

How do you expect to get color commentator medal if you can not comment in league? Emailing other managers does not classify as commenting to others in your league.

This is critical for our league
We used the message board for a what we call a "Slow Auction"
Pooler can bid on one player on the message board and and after thats others can bid higher if they wishWe need one therad per player, not a "free for all" everywhere spread on the chat!
Instead of having think classify per subjet on message board, you prefer goind on chat where 16 owner will speak about 10 subject at the same time, what a mess
If it's not broken, don't fix it
FYI CBS still keep there message board...

Remember when it was fun to play fantasy baseball at Yahoo? Back when we could chat with each other during the draft, talk a little smack, meet people and find out where others were from ect. ect. Shutting down everyones ability to communicate with each other has sure taken most of the fun out of playing fantasy baseball.

Removing the message board is a terrible idea. Improve chat features are nice. But the message board is the heart of an active league. Terrible idea that will see many leagues look elsewhere. My main league, played on Yahoo since 2000, is discussing it. Where? On the basketball message boards...........

I love that the format Yahoo! uses to get feedback on the removal of the Message Board is... a Message Board.

message board was incredibly important for our league. our league will struggle without it.

My league wanted to discuss a fairly major scoring change this year: go from 6X6 to 5X5 by dropping Assists, Saves, and Holds while combining Saves and Holds into a wise Yahoo cat which combined the two into SOLDS. That's a sensible league.
But we have no message board. We cannot discuss scoring changes. We cannot catch up on what has happened in our lives since early October.
This is a business kill recipe for Yahoo. Bus-kill if you will. This ********* is stupid for your business model, it costs you consumers this year, and creates a fair degree of ill will about the Yahoo brand in general, not just baseball. E mail -- what is left -- is likely next. Your news is already mostly pictures of morons in WalMart interspersed with a cutie with a lot of what's up front that counts.
So kill your fantasy sports business. Sure baseball is first, but all the others come next, and they have the benefit of knowing what Yahoo is up to. They have months to figure out how to transition to another carrier. And they will do so, overwhelmingly.
We rarely see a corporate suicide in real time, but here it is now, coming day by day.

My league used the message board as a way to keep track of our minor league roster transactions, which are kept apart from our normal rosters. If this is being done as some way to get the game to become more "social" the last thing anyone needs is another messaging service. most yahoo players have been here a while and have not moved to newer sites out of familiarity and nostalgia. stop changing things.
